new stripes on the wheels

Getting the all gear together for a 6/7 day trip to central and southeaster Bolivia, primarily Sucre and Tarija. Somewhere between 2000 and 2500 km, largely paved roads.

Schuberth helmet, Klim jacket, IH tshirt, Held gloves, Rokker jeans, IH belt, Daytona boots and Scott waterproofs. That should keep me comfy enough.
-

Route will look somewhat like that Google map blue line. We aren’t hitting the country’s highest areas this time around. We’ll mostly stay between 1700 and 3500 mts. Rainy season here so that may cause some route changes.

@WhiskeySandwich I like the stance you have on this. Are those 10.5" shocks in the back? What size fork tubes as well, +4, +6? Im in the middle of a sportster build right now as well.
-
@94atromero thanks bud. Yeah they're Burly 10.5" i think with +4 tubes. shoulda got +6 though, i'll probably swap with my bro in law cuz he's a shorty and it puts him on his tippy toes. Make sure you post pics of your build!
-
@WhiskeySandwich really glad to hear that’s the exact setup I’ve been looking at. I was thinking +4 as well since I’m only 5’ 2” with about a 30” inseam. Pics soon, as I just finished up my tank.

I’m late sharing the announced trip pics. Trip got delayed several days due to a mechanical problem in our friend’s Yamaha Super Tenere, which also shortened the second half of the trip.

Roadside break between Sucre and Tarija during our 2nd day on the road.
Sunday all-day barbecue at our host’s beautiful home in Tarija. Right at the foothills of ‘serrania Aguarague’.

Brief tour of Jamones Ulloa, aged ham operation in Tarija

Visited Pilaya canyon, about 80 km outside of Tarija. Pilaya is reported as the 6th deepest canyon in the world at 3000 mts. -

But…condors are the stars of the show here at Pilaya. We watched 3 condors riding the thermal currents looking for food while there. Awesome bird! -

A great bike deserves a decent backdrop, right?
Riding this scenery between Sucre and Tarija is spectacular. Good pavement, empty road, fantastic scenery, cheap tasty food and a perfect 18 degC temp…can’t ask for much more.

This old water-driven stone mill used for grain was very cool to visit. -
@motojobobo Once again a beautiful insight into the gorgeous Bolivian landscape.
-
@motojobobo love it and thank you for sharing!!

@motojobobo Looks like the trip of a lifetime

Beautiful day. Stopped at a brewery and took this pic from inside. I love my motorcycle -
Picked this beautiful 1200 custom off market place for a screaming deal. Always wanted to build a chopper so figured it was a great starting point.

Found a peanut tank on my local classifieds and decided to try my hand at painting it.

Hit it with the airbrush. Some lines aren’t the best, but that’s okay.

Tank installed with a wire tuck as well.

Up next will be extended damper rods, fork extensions, 10.5” rear shocks, and finish making a sissy bar. Far from done but I love the process.

Blizzard rolling in, calm before the storm

-
@94atromero hell yea, that looks great man. What did you use to paint that?
I'll be watching for updates! -
