IHSH-33-OD - 12oz Selvedge Denim Western Shirt - Indigo Overdyed Black
-
@bluemantra No, the previous run (which restocked April '24) was the first to be overdyed with the newer direct dye. Models before that, however, would've been sulphur-dyed, but we've been slowly phasing out this method due to the environmental risks it poses in production.
-
@SamD what’s the difference in the final result?
-
@Damocles In terms of fabric appearance, you’d be hard pushed to tell the difference. Where it’s most noticeable is in the garment stitching, which appears more prominent as the polycotton thread doesn’t take on the direct dye (whereas the sulphur dye stains/darkens it a little more).
It doesn’t apply to this shirt, but the sulphur process also oxidises the copper hardware on jeans and CPO shirts (such as the 293-OD), giving them an aged appearance. Hope that helps!

Entering the Redine Rally in this one!

I bought this from an online retailer before the latest release. Can anyone confirm from photos if this is the old OD method? The buttons look to be tarnished to me.

-
Looks like the previous run to me mate, here is the latest version @bluemantra

-
@bluemantra @AdamJ funny, bougt mine a year ago and it has the same buttons like Adams picure.
-
@AdamJ Thanks, I thought the sulfur OD method only oxidized copper, but these snaps look oxidized to me.

Just out of curiosity, I went and checked out my 33od I bought last year and compared it to my 326blk and realized 2 things:

First, it’s definitely OD’d the old way with sulphur. The metal is much darker and has an obvious patina. The second thing I realized is the snaps on my 326 don’t say “Iron Heart Works Inc” on them.

I guess they use different snaps on the 326 altogether.
