@scooter I’ve never tried any of those, but have heard nothing but great things about all of them. Especially the 12 yr. For my personal tastes, the sweet spot for bourbon, tends to be 7-10 years old. After that they can be a bit too oakie/oaky for my taste. Having said that, The Elijah Craig 18 is one of my all time favorites. I felt that the Knob Creek 14 was a bit too oaky for me. How would you rate these on their oakiness level?

Holy shit what a difference. I never thought I could justify the price but now idk if I can go back.

@WhiskeySandwich definitely better than generic cocktail cherries. These are also good, but not cheap.

@SKT yeah I’m really glad at least one of the BT faves became readily available again. I think the whiskey boom has slowed a bit. It did its damage on prices tho

Long ago now, I was riding a chair lift with a couple of strangers that were passing a flask. I asked what it was and they have it to me. Turns out it was a fifty fifty mix of creme de menthe and peppermint schnapps that they later told me was called snow snake repellent. It was a fun experience but I've never had that again.

If you can handle EC18, you can certainly handle KC12. It's a far less pricey pour, as well. Honestly, the KC12 is #2 of my "always on hand" Bourbons.

As far as oak goes, I brought a bottle of the new Jack Daniels Heritage Toasted to a friend's place for Thanksgiving. It's a lovely pour. But, it's definitely oak heavy. Personally, I find the oak influence of the KC18 and KC21 less offensive. If memory serves, you are a fan of Woodford Double Oaked. I have the same opinion of that comparison, too...
