Question for boy dog owners, this pup is my first boy dog that I’ve owned. But are they typically this clingy? He doesn’t have separation anxiety, thank goodness. I can leave and come back without a fuss. But he’s always glued to me when I’m around. My husky girl was like a cat. Didn’t want any attention or affection unless it was on her terms. Also, having a hard time potty training him. His breeders were great he came potty trained using pee pads, but been trying to get him to go outside in the yard for potty business. He typically holds it for #2 until he’s back inside

@RoxRocks86 it might be the difference in breeds. Goldens are super clingy and want lots of affection and pets. My arms would get so tired when I had my two golden puppies. They constantly wanted massages, scratches and pets. First thing Rose does when I get home is flop down to show me her belly for me to scratch it when I get home from work.

@RoxRocks86 Huskies are considered to be a primitive breed, which means that they retain traits from ancient dogs which often developed without human guidance.
They're slightly different to regular dogs: Less obedient, they can be shy or aloof around strangers, and they tend to be more independent.
Disco is a Peruvian Hairless, which is a primitive breed. I've noticed differences between him and regular dogs. I'm guessing that's what you're also seeing, just in reverse.

We think so @sabergirl! The rescue listed her as a Shih Tzu/Wire Hair Terrier mix but she has a much different build than most Shih Tzu and her personality is totally different. She's very energetic to say the least!
