Great news and the fit looks compelling. As the 634's have been my favorite cut, I guess this new cut might give a tough competition. Will definitely grab a pair upon release. Any rough timeline? Anywhere I can hit that notify button already?

684 Patch - TIGER - Built for ETERNITY
We wanted to continue the tradition of patch designs featuring animals (888 Octopus, 555 Snake, Duck), and Maria had the idea that a Japanese tiger would go well with these new jeans. She has a tiger tattoo on her thigh, which looks pretty good by the way. The Japanese tiger (Tora) symbolizes bravery, strength, and protection, and is revered in Japanese culture as a protector against evil, illness, and misfortune. It also represents autumn and the winds and is associated with courage and idealistic leadership—everything we see in the Iron Heart brand. Maria also wanted a number with even numbers (odd is absolutely out of the question for her), and I felt the number absolutely had to start with 6, since the new jeans are based on the 634 but are wider. Haraki-San like it and so, the 684 was born.

Our loyal customer and good friend Carsten from Hamburg designed the patch. @Buckmutter Carsten is a graphic designer by profession and runs a successful graphic design studio in Hamburg with his wife, Eva. He really wanted to be involved in the project because he's a huge Iron Heart fan. @Steve drew the tiger, which turned out really cool. Thanks again to both of you for the great work!
Oh, and we wanted the patch to be made of the 14 oz leather patch with a red print, traditionally adapted to Levi's vintage 501 jeans patches. I hope you like the patch design too?

I fought wider cuts for a long time but as 50 is closer than 40, comfort is getting to be more and more important.

with the waist too large, you only need to forget a belt one day for that to happen.

Never leave the house without a belt.

Most days its 2 or 3 belts before I can leave the house

@Shane-B Fantastic story behind the patch and every single detail you mentioned applies equally good. Is this cut only exclusive to the store? I mean this can be purchased only at the store in Hamburg? Will this initially be a limited run? Is it planned to be available online as well? Already way too many questions from my side, but this denim really caught on me as I never had any mid-weight IH denim yet.

The jeans will only be available at our Hamburg store on release day, which is sometime in March. Afterwards, they'll be available online as well. The initial run is limited, but we've ordered enough. The 16-ounce ring-spun denim is fantastic and has a nice, irregular weave. The weight is perfect for wearing the jeans year-round.
