@northsouthdenimguy The bottle of Widow Jane,is that the original 7 yr old? And you’re not allowed to have 2 unopened bottles of Blantons.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s the seven-year-old widow Jane I think I have two unopened bottles and one open. I’m going let my wife know to next time take a much clearer picture. 😜

We rarely drink at home anymore after Covid. First 6 months had pretty much wiped out everything (except the tequila) almost all the bourbon and whiskey were gone. Stocked it back up but now it’s just here for holidays and guests. I do all my drinking in the bars and restaurants, it makes me feel better about myself. Lol

@northsouthdenimguy I’ve been out to the Widow Jane distillery a few times, and met most of the guys, when they started out. The original 7 yr Widow Jane bourbon, was bourbon that they bought from Buffalo Trace and cut with the water from the Widow Jane Mine in upstate NY. I’ve had subsequent bottlings at 10 and 13 years and didn’t enjoy them as much. I also don’t know where the later bottlings originated. I got a couple of almost barrel proof bottles that were 8 years old at an event I attended. Those were stellar. The last time I was at the distillery I asked if they had any of the 7 yr around and they said there had been a leaky barrel which they bottled and had been keeping for themselves. They were nice enough to sell me one. If they’re 7yr old it will say it on the front label. They have since been bought by Heaven Hill, and I have no idea what’s in the bottles these days.IMG_2291.jpeg IMG_2292.jpeg

I will have to check them out when I get home. They may be the 10 year. It’s been years since I’ve really been into paying attention, I was a lot more into 10-15 yrs ago…

Confirmed these three are the 10-year. I’m pretty sure the last bottles I had were the 7-year.

And a little twist, the actual piece of furniture that’s supposed to go in the dining room isn’t here yet. The one that’s meant for the living room was delivered and ended up there temporarily, so I’ve put about half the liquor in it for now. The rest is going downstairs until the right piece arrives, then I’ll move everything back upstairs.

My wife says I need to listen more…

Old Chinese cabinet of sorts that is my liquor cabinet is now in the basement with a light that’s not centered over it, it’s driving me crazy. I will be calling my Electrician. 😂

Back at a favorite. The guys working here really are some of the best. Mezcal, pineapple, ginger, dry vermouth, and something I forget. Spectacular.

Since my Chartreuse supply is running low and it's difficult to find these days, I'm using a close substitute; Luxardo Del Santo. The rest is mezcal, lime juice from my lime tree, and Luxardo cherry liqueur.
