Anyone that’s got both, how stiff is this compared to the 14oz ib shirt?

@natefreezy got it. I think it also depends on where you live and how cold it gets. I’m in central coast of California and temps are moderate. I wear the 293 over a T and a long sleeve T at most. I know many like to wear it over a hoody or flannel but the shirt offers such a great silhouette with minimal underlayers.

@Gavin666 softer than the 14oz ib from the start IMO. The 14ozib is noticeably more rigid when you put it on to begin with but softens over time

I’m still trying to get my head around this one … I just love what I’m seeing in the pictures here.

Is this going to feel like I’m wearing a denim (jean jacket), or is it more like a heavy shirt with some “ridged” drape?

@Brandrea definitely the latter. The overdying softens it up. Feels like wearing a conventional denim shirt with a little more heft

@Brandrea It's so soft. Quickly. The chest pockets are stiff at first, but the entire garment seems, bizarrely, like a very heavy linen.

                                      Hey guys,
I’m looking for some sizing advice on the IHSH-293-OD. I’m torn between XL and XXL.

Here are the measurements from my best fitting shirt, measured the Iron Heart way:

                                      Shoulders: 49 cm

                                      Length: 77 cm

                                      Chest (P2P): 59 cm

                                      Waist: 56.5 cm

                                      Opening: 57 cm

                                      Sleeve: 67.5 cm

                                      Sleeve opening: 11.5 cm

I really like the way this one fits — not tight, just a comfortable regular fit.

Looking at the size chart for the IHSH-293-OD, it seems like I am in between sizes XL and XXL? I’d really appreciate your thoughts or experience with sizing on this particular model. This will be my first CPO, and I've never styled a garment like that before.

                                      Thanks a lot in advance!

I’m considering if I should go up to an XL in this. I picked up a lightly worn L back in April / May. I generally wear it with a t, but occasionally with a hoodie. Thoughts?

@Josso based on those numbers i think XXL would be best for me. I actually wear a XXL in the 293. like you, i'm kind of a tweener. i'm glad i opted for the XXL for a more comfortable fit but no less flattering. it's a trim garment. i could probably wear a thin hoodie under it if i had to.

i wear XL in the old IHSH75 which is the 12oz denim workshirt with buttons (since discontinued, now made with snaps). some of the lads here have sized up in the OD, others remain with their typical size.
