IHSH-208-IND - Indigo Kersey Western Shirt
-
@Gavin666 I would say given the material is really soft (i woudl describe it as almost sweatshirt like softness) it doesnt really hold creases, i wear an XL and didnt find the sleeves to be overly long but might have long arms
-
@ShopatIronHeart hey guys just wanted to double check on the dimensions for this as it appears both the western and work versions of this beauty have identical dimensions for XXL. Is this the case? Best wishes
-
I feel like I fit into a large but the measurement that is most off are the sleeves (more than .5” off my own measurements). Are the sleeves on these really that long? Can they be hemmed?

I adore this shirt. I love mine so much I bought the camel one from a member here. It’s the shirt I pick out almost every day.

Hey @long_john86
They are different, sorry. The chart for the 208 is correct at the top post of this thread and product. The chart for the 288 is correct in the first post of the forum. We are just tweaking the code that puts the chart into the product page and it will match up to the forum thread and differ from the 208 shortly.
Sorry about that!

Hey hi, new to the forum, based in NYC. Picked this up today in my standard UHF size of Large at Self Edge. It’s great. I bought the 5 oz Kersey a couple of months ago and with cold water wash / hang dry had significant shrinkage. Those with this see similar big shrinkage, such as full size down? Appreciate it!
-
I warm washed my grey kersey hoping for some shrinkage and got really nothing. Crazy yours shrank so much. Couldn't bring myself to machine dry it.

I caught the email about this shirt a few hours ago. Looks like what I've been after: a deep blue shirt to mix up in my many black western shirts. But alas, I see the L is sold out. Did they go quickly, or is a restock imminent?
ETA: Looks like a restock in June, so I'm guessing no new stock coming soon.
Therefore, the question becomes sizing. I'm seeing a prevailing thought here that the western cuts fit a little more snugly than the work shirt cuts. I found this to be the case when I acquired my IHSH-396-BLK shirt. I'm usually a L in the UHF, but went with an XL, despite the long sleeve length.
Where did most of you land on sizing with respect to your usual IH shirt? I'm a cold wash and line dry devotee, so shrinkage doesn't seem to be a thing. Size up?
-
@Bobcat-Sig There is a new run of this shirt in production, but won't be here 'till next year.
As a general rule, yes - the westerns are a slimmer fit than the work shirt. However in my experience it is not always the case that it warrants an exact size up. I would measure your best fitting shirt (be it IH or otherwise) and do a quick comparison just to be sure!

I am super stoked! I was down at SE PDX for boot things, which I'll cover in another thread, and lo and behold, not only did they have this shirt in stock, they had one in a tag L. My oh my, is this fabric cool! Because I'm a total neophyte to this whole sphere, many of these non-denim fabrics are new to me. Kersey is no different. I'd never had it in hand, and despite best efforts, the shirt is so much more striking in person. And it's so soft!!
All of this, I'm sure you all know, but I had to share my enthusiasm.
-
@Bobcat-Sig Nice pick up man! I got my first kersey this year too, love it to pieces.
-
@Bobcat-Sig excited for you man! Starting off the IH journey with a bang!
-
@SKT heh, yah, for sure. This is my fifth IH shirt. A few years ago, I first dipped my toe into the UHF arena and acquired another not long after. Last year, I picked up a lighterweight flannel and a black denim shirt. The hook sank deep.
Now, it's all about checking out the different fabrics, which I'm finding quite interesting.
-
@Bobcat-Sig oh man I was confused by another post I read today…well you added a stellar shirt to the stable!
-
@SKT All good. I'm a bit late to the IH forums, not finding this place until I was a few years into my UHF and boot ownership. I also lurked for a bit as I wasn't sure of the unique decorum found here.

@Bobcat-Sig Oh, you won’t regret this one. Perfect that you could try it for size too. It only gets softer, though maybe less of a deep blue…
