i was in the same boat on the buttons but once I saw it in person it didn't matter.  they're not painted over or anything, if they chip they'll just…  chip

I'm not worried about my t shirts but rather uneven fading.  I saw this a bit in the lower back on the od chambray.  It's most likely from sitting in a chair most of the day.

Pulled the trigger on the red XL, finally.  After a long look at the both, I decided the red was just too unusual to let pass.  It's a strange bird.

Mine's stacked for now.  I'd love to see a good outdoor, natural light fit pic of the red myself.  I think the one's on the site, and those I'd posted are fairly representative of the odd colors.  I know there's one other member running around with one.
