IH-634-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
Im amazed at how quick the Evo is on these. Only been wearing a week or so and whiskers already starting
-
888-UHR on the left, new 634-XHS on the right. Super excited to experience the 25oz. What’d yall think of the fit? To me, it feels good all around, except the waist, it’s a little tight for my liking. I haven’t given them a soak, I see on the product page that the waist won’t stretch any further than its pre-wash state.
-
@Subprime I’ve gotten a half inch of stretch before with the 25oz from tagged measurements. If that’s not enough for comfort for you, you may consider sizing up. The 25oz are worth it to size right and wear for many years. Since they are a heavy fabric a bit of extra room is nice for movement. Just my thoughts though. I’m sure other people have different opinions.
-
Thanks for the input @Fadez. The waist already feels better after just a few hours of wear. Imma soak & wash them this evening and be back with updates...
-
Washed and standing up, all by themselves 🥲 Only a half day of wear, and they’re already feeling great. Very glad I went with this size. I’m even more excited now than when they first arrived! I was nervous about the fit.

@rimaarts so. My saga continues. Today got to try 634 cut in 14 Oz size smaller, 38.
Since 40 I was doubting it's too big, I "think", 38 is a better size for me. Only thing i hope for is that hips won't shrink with wash. Or give a little bit bigger than they are now after some washes. Gets a bit less comfortable when pockets are full.
I would like a bit higher rise, and for a "straight cut", 634 feels pretty slim. Placed order for a pair from Germany. Let's hope 25oz doesn't wear much smaller than 14oz!

Hey guys! Last year bought 2 jeans I don't particularly love.
Blackhorse lane NW1 16 oz was hoping either hips will give more, or I'll shrink a bit. Didn't happen.
Oni secret super rough. FOMO got the best of me so sized up in a cut that's too slim for me. Weirdly after wash they shrunk a lot and fit nicely, but now I need to wear them and see how much they stretch back.
This year I want to jump in 25oz pool. It's between iron heart and samurai.
I tried iron heart straight and relaxed tapered cuts in lightweight denims.
888 38" was a no go. 40" was still slim but wearable. Just when sitting down felt like raise slipped down too much. So I don't want to risk that in 25oz
They didn't have 38" 634. Size 40 felt a bit big everywhere but hips.. So I guess question is how much they shrink/stretch? And if hips are nice on 40, should I risk waiting for restock to try 38?
Pics of 40"
I meant to quote this post.

@rimaarts. If you wash them with cold water and no spin and hung dry they will not shrink. Tag 40 looks good onnthe pictures though. Not that tag 38 doesn't but in my eyes tag 40 looks more hiw a 634 should fit.

One more question guys. Anyone who has ordered internationally from iron heart. Do you have to pay extra taxes ? (You know the usual +20-30%?) One reason I ordered was because iron heart Germany webpage says 395£. Vat included. This morning I woke up to a nice email saying. Hey, you know, you probably will pay extra 20-30% for taxes and duties?
-
@rimaarts https://forum.ironheart.co.uk//post/880433
VAT is a sales tax in Europe, not related to import duty to the USA
-
@Alex I'm in uk...
I'm aware that there's like 5 possible import charges, but if shop page says vat included, shipping policy says "all taxes included", I expect to have paid vat to iron heart. I dont expect uk government asking me for vat.
All other charges I dont think I've ever paid more than 50£ on a 500£ order.
The question is, do german customers pay 395€ or they pay almost 500€?

At the risk of being blunt, you should expect the UK government to take VAT and possibly duties on any order from the EU (or any other place outside the UK for that matter). This policy has been in place since Brexit fully took effect as far as I know. It is the buyer's responsibility to check for any possible taxes and duties levied on goods coming into the country:
https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty
Could this be stated more prominently on IH Germany's website beyond their FAQs (What about customs duties?) - possibly. Are they to blame - IMO no.
And to answer your question, a German customer would pay €395 including 19% VAT. The additional duties and taxes are levied by the UK government.
I understand your frustration but I think you are directing that frustration at the wrong people
-
@Tago-Mago "And to answer your question, a German customer would pay €395 including 19% VAT." There you go. 395€ including vat. AND another vat charged by uk government?
If as you say for German customers, it's 395 including 19% vat, either international orders should be disabled, or German vat deducted. I would have thought iron heart is big enough not to make customers reclaim vat themselves.
However after a brief email exchange, turns out that invoice is 395€ with 0 vat. So it apparently actually is 395 including vat for German customers but 395 EXCLUDING vat for international customers? I don't think my frustration is THAT misplaced...
Now it's not my first time shopping internationally, so i am aware about charges, but it IS my first time questioning if I'll be paying vat once or twice...
Anyway. Order cancelled. And at least I got an email heads up for incoming charges before shipping. Lesson learned to never order iron heart internationally.

@Alex more than once during email I mentioned, im aware of import duties. But they are usually WAY less than 20-30%. As an example I don't think I've paid more than 30-40£ duties +20% vat on a 500£ order.
Vat on the other hand usually 20%. And yes. I'm aware. Uk government wants vat. However noone should be paying vat twice. If I pay it to uk government, I shouldn't be paying it to Germany.
And when i questioned will I be charged vat if shop states vat included, i was resent invoice "395€. Taxes 0". I said well if I'll have to pay 500€, cancel my order. Order was cancelled.
So forgive me, but is my frustration misplaced? 395 vat included for eu customers but 395 vat excluded for outside eu?

The sale is not VAT excluded, it is just shipped DAP and as such you have to pay all import duties and costs associated with that (which frankly has nothing to do with Iron Heart Germany)
-
@Alex sigh. So it is 395€ for eu, 500€ for the rest of us. Thanks. Lesson learned.
