IH-888S-UHR - 21/23oz Ultra Heavy Raw Selvedge Denim High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans

@Oaktavia i’ve been following the journey between your alternating XHSib and UHR. Which of the two have become softer? I’ve had XHSib and XHS but never the UHR and thinking of picking up a pair.
-
@louisbosco thanks man, your competition pair of UHR you shared was a big inspiration too. I was just wearing my 634XHS around the house yesterday. I think that cut is the most comfortable. Stoked to see if you break out your 634UHR.
-
@Duffputter I'm so glad you've been checking out the journey. XHSib is the softer of the two. But UHR I highly recommend.
-
@Oaktavia the denim is definitely the winner here. I'm currently enjoying the kapital century denim right now. they are slow and definitely age a lot different. I'll definitely be back in normal denim soon..

I love that normal means 23oz jeans.
-
@Oaktavia So awesome man those are mesmerizing. Hopefully nobody saw you out in the woods in your underwear taking pictures of these.
-
@Oaktavia haha have fun man. Jeans look amazing.

6 months, 1 initial soak, 0 wash.
Was going to wash them at this 6 month mark but since they’ll make 7 months exactly the day before IIY5 begins, I’m just holding off until then.
I regret throwing a multi tool in the back pocket next to the wallet lol - we live and we learn.
-
@worn2fade back pocket looks awesome bro!
-
@jfox1980 Thanks a lot man!
-
@worn2fade these are really going to pop after a wash. Are you going to machine wash them?
-
@Oaktavia I’ve always been more of a hand wash kind of guy. Honestly, the machine scares me dude. Do you feel like a machine wash with no spin is technically more efficient than a hand wash?
-
@worn2fade machine wash for sure gets them cleaner. Just need to make sure you always do the following, simplified:
Inside out tub soak for half hour to an hour first.
Inside out still straight to the machine, gentle or cotton setting, no spin.
Pull out promptly and hang dry out in the sun.
Any worries will be prevented by following these steps. UHR loves a machine wash. Worry not, they will be just fine and much cleaner.
-
@Oaktavia Sounds good man, I just might take you up on that because I would appreciate for them to be as clean as possible which hand washing doesn’t always seem to achieve.
I feel like I usually prefer the soaking part to be done non-inside out, I don’t really believe soaking them inside out will uplift the dirt from the warp since the denim is heavy and tends to stay closed at the hem.
Do you personally believe soaking non-inside out does any harm?
