Y'2 Leathers….
-
Mine has just arrived! I am absolutely loving it (more so than I anticipated actually) the Kakishibu is so, so nice - I really love this colour even before it darkens
-
@Darth-fader totally agree! It was love at first sight, and only grows more with wear🤎
-
My 44 came in the other day. When I first put it on I thought I had made a mistake with sizing, it looked ridiculous. However, the shoulders felt about right and after some thought and looking at TJ’s before and after photos of the red version I realized I was probably ok. Sure enough, even after a few minutes of wear it was starting to drape better. The sizing is very comfortable for me and I can definitely wear something underneath. It’s definitely more wearable than my Henry, which is much more tailored and a tighter fit.
Stitching on mine is perfect with no visible flaws. My only critique are the cuffs, I’m not sure what you would call that style but they seem purely cosmetic. I do like the fact the leather has some small imperfections and marks, I’m more than a little OCD so it’s nice to have something that isn’t “perfect”, in a traditional sense. Leather thickness seems consistent too.
@mecken88, I think TJ was sharing some photos of yours on Instagram, it’s crazy how much it’s darkened up. Mind sharing them here?

@nrtphotos such a good read! I had a similar feeling too. This is my first ever quality leather jacket so I had no preferences from before. But it was stiff and ridged for what I had ever felt from a leather jacket, but as you said it kind of quickly started to shape more and looked way better on the body.
I’m also a short/mid length guy, I’m 175cm = 5’9”
And this chore shirt even if it’s a “shorter” chore jacket, it’s one of my longest one. Usually buy shorter styles trucker jacket so it took some getting used too for me. But with a few days of wear I just fell for it. So now it’s easily one of my absolute favorite jackets!🤎
Yes he dit, I can share it here too for anyone curious what it looks like after like a week in the sun
Before (first day, directly after I took it out of the box)
After, almost exactly one week of wear.
And for anyone curious, i haven’t done anything to the jacket. No balm, leather care, moisturizer or anything. Just a lot of wear, sun sun sun and two days of rain exposure. Then just hang dried indoors until completely dry. And some more sun and wear

@nrtphotos I've got/had a few y2 jackets and personally I have found they end up fitting much better in the long run when they seem slightly oversized to begin with. They seem to shrink a little as they mould and shape to you - so (for me) if they fit perfectly right away I have found they tend to feel a little too restrictive later down the line.
I have the red chore jacket, and thought I had really messed up with the sizing as it just seemed too big at first. But now, after some wear, it fits really well......so it can be tricky to get right!
-
@mecken88 That’s insane/awesome.
-
For those with the red chore jacket, how are you feeling about the ‘hand dyed’ process? Debating on whether to pull the trigger on the new Shop Vancouver type 3…
-
@Mister_Brue thanks man! it’s a truly beautiful jacket for sure! Like a blank canvas ready to experience life
-
@Buckeye obviously its all down to personal taste - but I love the colour variation of the hand dyed leather.....it just gives the jacket a bit of a worn in look straight away, plus it just looks good to me and is something a bit different to my other jackets
-
Anyone have N1 sizing advice? I’m a size M/US40 in most brands and wear a size L UHF. I’m wondering if I should size up to 42 if I want room to layer over a UHF.
-
@uclabruin I am a L in UHFs and personally I would say yes, go with a 42, especially if you want to layer
-
@Darth-fader Thanks! Which version do you have?
-
@uclabruin I have the shop Vancouver green version, and I have also tried the regular navy version (and they both fit the same).........they are very warm jackets though, so It depends upon where you live I suppose, but I have never needed more than a t-shirt underneath when wearing mine
-
@Darth-fader dang! Nice to know, iv been looking at the green version. Would love me one of those jackets. I live in Sweden, our winters would sure need one of those jackets
-
Just got mine, so stocked. Will be some time coming but I’ll appreciate it even more.
Always feeling a bit nervous to pay that much money and not be able to size it first, but I’ll trust the process
Keep the photos coming please so I can can get hyped on the way! -
@nrtphotos hi, would you mind sharing some information on your sizing (especially weight and chest/shoulders)?
I am going back and forth on sizing (between 44 and 46), as I tend to be XL in most IH including UHF. I know 44 should be the way to go but I sometimes feel slightly constrained as I have relatively large shoulders / chest. These 2 are the only dimensions that change between the two sizes and I would want to feel comfortable in the long run. Sizing is always a bit stressful on such an expensive itemMany thanks,
