For the questions regarding shrink and soaking before wearing here is my advice:
- Size this jacket based on where it will end up after you wash it.
- You’re going to want to wash it when you get it other wise it will fit horribly out of the bag. It shrinks down like 1.5-2 sizes so you’re not going to be happy with fit pre-wash.
- Unless you plan to NEVER wash this jacket (and why would you ever want to do that?) getting the shrink out initially is really the only way to go about things when you get the jacket.
In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

I’m very confused about the sizing and washing on these. I bought mine in January of 2022 direct from IHUK, I do not remember any mention of shrink to fit or being unwashed. I looked online, Self Edge and Weathered Fig still describe these as one washed but unsanfordized. Are these new ones different than previous batches?

@nrtphotos. The 19L was always one washed and unsanforized. That hasn't changed. And because is no sanforized there is some shrinkage left and all depends how you will wash it. A cold soak will yield a small amount of shrinkage amd a really hot soak or wash will make it shrink a bit more.

This was my exact question. I have this jacket from a couple years ago and I thought it was sold as one washed. Perhaps this re stock they aren't doing the one wash? Mine has been washed once and tightened up but hasn't shrunk as much as others here. Maybe over subsequent washes it will shrink more.

The 19L fabric is once washed and unsanforized with no sewing usually done by sanforizarion. That is the reason why the pants of the same fabric get leg twist or skew. So yes there is some shrinkage left and it depends on how hot you are planning to wash it.

@yannis I’m sorry but you are incorrect here. The info page for the jacket literally says “ we don't one-wash this model”. That’s the reason for my question, I’m assuming something has changed with this run. I’m hoping one of the guys can clarify this and put it to bed.

It could be the case. I am surprised that the jeans of the same fabric get washed once but the jacket is not. I have 2 634's one 888 and both the Od and regular indigo jacket.

Kinda happy it’s sold out, cuz was thinking I had to get it lol. For the best, No extra denim money rn and working on the lefty OD , as well as few other CPOs, and have the 14oz Type 3 in rotation. Like everyone else too many fade projects. Maybe next run or if one pops up in buy/sell near future.

what more is there to say about shrinkage beyond the amazing test they did on this run? This is just incredible and way above and beyond for any company to do.
