IH-526Lod - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo Overdyed Black

This jacket is so sick. Sizing worked perfect for me with the XXL. Too bad it's summer in New York.
-
Sat on my sofa listening to this thing creek like leather as a move and rotate my arms
Truly worth the wait, now to just wait for some cooler weather to wear it outside.
Happy sunday all

Just got mine an hour ago. Josh from the shop was kind enough to fine me an L with 22.2" chest and I think it's pretty close to perfect. Can squeeze a hoodie underneath if need be. It's immediately comfortable, the material is smooth and soft. In love immediately.

Got one after seeing the fades on the SE 22oz collab.
Fits me like a glove

I chickened out and got both L and XL to try on and decide. Comparison pictures would be mostly meaningless. The widths and arm lengths looks very similar, body length on the xl is a bit longer than I like, but is much more comfy to layer in the width. Ostensibly, the L is the better fit for a t shirt but is snug buttoned. It is less snug though than my indigo lefty, likely due to the less stiff fabric?
While I wait for the indigo size chart to drop to get a feel for how much it might relax, for those of you who biased toward a snug over a t shirt fit in the LOD, did you find it to relax and form at all? I think if it gave up ~.2" in the flat width where it will have tension I'd be golden.
Picture bc someone will ask; large on left, xl on right. Sorry for the shit quality and terrible wall color we're needing to paint...
-
@pechelman I think the L looks pretty much spot on.
Mine has loosened up/relaxed in the shoulders. I haven't got any numerical evidence to support it stretching in the chest/waist but it's definitely relaxed since I've owned it. I rarely wear it buttoned so I tend to just put up with it being a little snug if I want to wear a UHF underneath.

One thing that keeps throwing me is that most people wouldn't really be able to tell the difference if they weren't shown side by side, and then in that case, it has me leaning to be more comfortable and able to layer. But the large just feels oh so right over a T-shirt. Anyway, gonna sleep on it for sure.
-
you can see the difference in body length, L looks much better than XL.
how's the sleeve length? i got mine second hand, where the creases on the sleeves have already settled and shortened the sleeves considerably - to a point where they are borderline short.
just going by the pictures i'd say keep the large. -
Agree with @tody. I think the XL body length is a little longer than I would want in a type 3
-
@pechelman I agree with the others on the length looking off on the XL. The shoulders look better in the large as well.
-
Size L is what you want. Looks just right

never had this much trouble deciding on which one to go with. I keep flipping back and forth. I think the comparison picture above is semi-accurate, but i noticed this morning when i tried it on again that i was slouching a little bit in the XL photo to where the 2nd from last button is right over the belt buckle. When I stand normally the buckle becomes centered between the last two buttons.
Overall, this one in XL fits super similar to the 14IB jacket I've had for 3+years now. It's the one I take when I travel the most (due to it's comfort, lighter weight, and packability) and I seem to get the most compliments on this one compared to the indigo lefty that is ostensibly the better / more traditional snug type 3 fit.
Then I put on the L again and it looks / feels just right with a tee and is generally jjjuuuuust on the too snug side of comfortable when i button it over a UHF or hoodie.
I still concede that the L looks better and the more traditional fit but I'm wondering if I just dont care and want the little extra layering room and comfort from the XL. Does the XL look "bad" to anyone? My wife has commented she almost can't tell and wouldnt be able to tell if she just ran into someone wearing it. She's also commented i look a little bit stuffed like a sausage in the back of the L when it's buttoned.

@pechelman To be 100% honest. It's hard to judge from just one perspective. To give proper feedback, you should take pictures from the back as well. The more pictures provided, the better the input we can provide.
Personally, I think the XL jacket seems to hang off of your shoulder slightly more than the large. My preference is for the large, but I'm not the one who's going to be wearing it.
-
I think the large is about how most folks like their type 3, but I'd pick the XL. I always lean towards more functionality though and would prefer the option to comfortably layer while fully buttoned.
-
Sounds like you should keep both!
