IHSH-416-IND - 10oz Wabash Short Sleeved Mechanic Shirt - Indigo
-
Incoming. The measurements on the size Large seem like they would fit with room but after discussion with @Graham I decided to track down an XL with a smaller P2P. I've been really slow to add to my SS IH offerings so if this fits as good as I hope it'll open the door for more.
-
@jordanscollected nice dude, it's an awesome shirt. Just be prepared it is boxy, but meant to be. Took me a few minutes in the mirror before I felt OK with mine. They're rad shirts. I got an XL too.
-
I'm usually a 3x in IH. This shirt is a 2x and is on the edge of being to big. The XL length made this my cutoff choice. Got it from an eBay seller in Japan so I was ok with the risk.

Quick pics out the bag. Big thanks to @guiltyparty for the rapid fast shipping speed and IH like online communication.
I was really perplexed at the measurements vs the discussions about sizing people have had on here. I think I figured out what’s going on. This shirt has smaller arm holes than any IH shirt I’ve owned, and it’s giving the perception that the shoulders are snug.
You can see by my photo the shoulder seams drape over my shoulder just a bit but it does feel slightly snug in the shoulders, and it’s due to the high armpit cut of this shirt. While all other measurements in a large would have worked, the shirt would have been too snug in the large size. This shirt fits me great, I must be square shaped. Anyhow hopefully this helps someone else with their sizing choice from a retailer with this in stock. I would stick with your normal shirt size if you are between sizes.

@CosmoSix5
Are those 666's? -
@dlrarmy they're 555 21oz but have been professionally tapered by about 1.25+ inches. Current hem is 7.85"
-
@jordanscollected looks great! Appreciate the kind words.
-
Hope Iron Heart releases a 6/10 oz long sleeves version of it...
-
How do we feel about undershirts with these? Required?
-
@Oaktavia Got it! Most of the pics I see with them have undershirts and I have been going nude lol. Wife doesn't like the shirt, but I think it will grow on her as I wash after most wears and get some of the indigo turning.
-
@dubj7 lots of folks will wear an undershirt for sure. To each their own in that regard. If you scroll a little way through this thread, you will see my comparison photos from my new one to my few years old faded 6oz version. The best part about indigo wabash is how light it becomes from lots of wearing and washing, IMO.
-
@Oaktavia Definitely! That photo was what got me to pull the trigger. I hope the heavier weight of this shirt gets the same results!

If you look closely at your shirt, you will likely see some tiny areas of lighter indigo that have already faded. High contact areas. This will indicate where the shirt is headed.
I have had mine on ice as it was my birthday present from my wife. I'm going to give it a hot soak and wash this evening so I can wear it out tomorrow.
-
@Oaktavia Yep - collar points, button areas and sleeve openings starting. Here is Nashville, I'm getting a lot of sweat with the humidity, so I think the salt is going to get me some results with some washes soon. Thank goodness for the loose boxy fit to give a little air in it (thus the question about undershirts).
-
Finally able to wear mine after waiting until my birthday after this dropped. I was able to shrink it down enough to make it look a bit better. I did not take preshrink measurements. But I recall seeing the waist flair out a bit before hot soaking and washing it in my machine. It fits wonderfully now. I wore it to hang with some friends on Saturday in 85F + sunny heat and it faired super well. I did not wear a shirt under it. I'm still wearing it now after starting to on Saturday. Likely will wash it tonight. Usually with my short sleeved IH button downs, I wash them after each or every few wears. I really love this 10oz Wabash fabric and the cut. I prefer it to the 6oz version, though that one is steller in its own right.
-
First wash. Been wearing without an undershirt so it was time after about 10 wears. Good as new. Hand washed cold and tossed on the dryer medium for 30 minutes hoping for some shrinkage.

No shrink to note fyi
