IH-526Lod - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo Overdyed Black
-
@Johnnyutah247 , get the 21 oz type III.
It's an OG classic.
-
If the fit is yours (long and slim) then this is one of IH greatest pieces.
-
I've got my fingers crossed for this one. If it doesn't work out no biggie though.
-
Any chance these are coming in the next 30 days? Have a trip coming and it's probably going to be cold
-
@Galena418 Unsure yet, sorry. They are due soon, that's the best I can do!
-
@AdamJ same thing is probably true for other heavy hitters like the vintage CPO, right?
-
@RobeOfTheMagi Yep, as soon as we get the nod from Japan that they are ready for us to bring over to IHUK, I will sound the alarm
-
This was the first type 3 i think i wanted but the timing and available stock didnt work out so I ended up with a 14IB instead, that I love. Then all of the fading pictures of the indigo Lefty made me jump on that during one of the last restocks. Wondering if this will be the time or if maybe I should consider the 21OD instead.
At the expense of asking what has already been answered in one of the many huge threads about this OD fabric, how does it compare in terms of softness? I've got a couple things in the 21OD to compare as well as 25MB and 18OD as well as their regular indigo variants to help with comparisons.
Is it really as simple as 21:21OD :: 18:18OD :: 19L:19LOD?
-
@pechelman It is much softer and more comfortable than the indigo version, I don't know what to compare it to in fact, it is crispier than the 21OD and the 21MB, it is substantially different even from the 19oz non-Lefty. In two words it has a nice stiffness that allows the folds to be sculpted in an instant but it is not in an armor that can break like its indigo sister.
-
@Luijim78 nice description. I was between this and the new self edge OD type 3. I think I'm going to hold out for this. The 19oz LHT denim looks really nice when OD.
-
I am so torn between OD or not on this when it gets released...
-
I think @Luijim78 summed it up nicely. It's still more structured than any 21oz type iii. Is has a nice crispness to it but you can get a soft hand fairly quickly from wears. Get great creasing around the elbows. Mine is shorter than the regular 19L but mine is from an old batch. The regular 19L is days harder and stiffer and alot more stubborn to give and soften up.
-
One more question from anyone who has both, I'm presuming from the replies that this is true, but will a 19LOD item fold up thicker than either its equivalent garment in the 21/21OD?
For example, if one were to travel with these jackets and stuff it in an overhead bin or try to cram it in a duffle, will the 19L take up the most room of them all? Considering equal amounts of wear.
-
@pechelman I don't think that the 19L od will take more room that the 21oz. The regular 19L most definitely will.
-
The OD process makes the item more packable. The scientific word is "more-squishy" I only have the 14oz fwiw
-
@pechelman I have the 19 oz Lht type 3 and the 21 oz type 3. I can take a pic of them folded up next to each other if you want. My assumption is the difference will be negligible. The LHT does measure a bit bigger than the 21oz type 3 in my size though. Looking back, I might have preferred to size down. But it works well for layering.

Mine got delivered but I'm out of town until Friday. There's an invoice in the box so we'll see if it gets opened..... If you don't hear from me in a while send help
-
@CosmoSix5 where did you find available stock of the LH 19oz?
-
@mxhansen eBayyyyyy got lucky and did not mess around. I made him a fair offer and he accepted
