@derek111 nothing beats the aged/darkened wood on a tele headstock, makes the new ones seem shit in comparison!

Only just now discovering the guitar thread! This is awesome. Some beautiful guitars in this community. Figured I'd throw one of my favourites on to this thread. It's a Pre-War Guitars Co. Model D. If you haven't come across PW they starting making new guitars to try and closely replicate the experience of an actual pre-war Martin, Gibson, while including some modern additions like a truss rod etc. I got mine in 2021 after waiting around 20 months to get it. It's a lightweight, loud, and punchy guitar, absolutely love it.

@americanathreads I have loved those Pre War Guitars from afar and have never had the chance to play one. Looks really nice. Love the pedalboard though too. Need some more details on it if you get time (I have a Flint and love it)

@SKT If you get the chance to check one out, do! I played one of the brazilian rosewood OMs at the IBMA festival a couple of years ago and it was incredible. For sure! The large white pedal is a Milkman "The Amp". It's great - it's a fully functional amp with a headphone jack. I live in an apartment so most electric playing needs to go through headphones. Then I have the Ariel Posen Broadcast (mainly use as clean boost, but is great as a fuzzy OD as well). Vemuram Jan Ray Overdrive, which is a really great sounding pedal. Then a MIJ Tubescreamer TS10 (big fan of John Mayer's playing, he's used them for a long time). Then Way Huge Aqua Puss analog delay, Strymon Dig, and the Flint. Agree the Flint is great. Seems to be a very widely used reverb.

This is my main currently. 2006 MiM Thinline. All new electronics done by me some time ago— Seymour Duncan pickup set, new pots for volume and tone (split pot), black pickguard instead of the original white pearloid style, full contact input jack. Had to route the body cavity about 3/8” deeper as the ‘59 humbucker in the neck was too tall (has some stupidly tall legs on the mounting bracket for some reason.

Love this thing— it’s a Telecaster purist’s worst nightmare, and a dream for me (for playing in a very loud very chaotic screamo band)

My Thinline started its life similar to yours there on the left! After Hours of sweat, anger, and swearing at a small workstation in my buddy’s guitar repair shop I reached perfect antithesis. I love having a 6 saddle bridge on the thing, especially as I’m tuned down to CGDGCD#/CGCGCD# for my band, so being able to attempt to intonate properly was a huge plus. Recently added a good old Old Style can sticker to the guitar, because, I love making people mad with how silly my guitar is:)

It looks fantastic. I added a 22 fret neck to mine and I have been considering putting standard size pickups in the thinline. I dont love the re-issue wide ranges. Ive heard creamery's wide ranges are great. I honestly dont play my thinline as much as I should. The white HH is my no.1.

The reissue wide range are incredibly weak output with no real definition unfortunately. I love a good low output mid range-y pickup. On my Schecter PT the superrock ii pickups are incredibly for a range of sounds, so I wound up putting the Ceramic SD humbucker in the bridge on my Thinline. Made a huge world of difference for playing higher gain tones, but still has some sparkle for some softer indie and Midwest emo sounds. I believe it’s the SH-5 Custom from Seymour Duncan in case you’re in the market for some clear clear sounds!! Only downside is I believe ceramic pickups are more often than not Microphonic, so with the thinline it’s very noticeable— however, with the type of music I play, this just means I have the ultimate feedback-generating monster haha

Neural DSP is great, a bit pricier, but superb quality on their plugins. I use the Archetype Tim Henson and Archetype Nolly plugins for recording demos or even doing early stage mixes for my current band. As for drum sounds make sure to check out GetGoodDrums. They have some great drum libraries that are either really huge and give you so many options, or you can go for their “mix-ready” options which I personally love as well.
