IH-526J-142OD - 14oz Selvedge Denim Modified Type III - Overdyed Indigo
-
Checking out OD Type III's and wonder how different the feel is between this 14oz and upcoming 19oz lefty OD restock. I have the indigo 19oz lefty, and it remains super crunchy. Tempted to go comfort first with the 14oz, despite knowing that the lefty will be significantly easier to wear as compared to the indigo version...

@beef_bonanza oooh yeah!!! Love this fade!!
-
@denim-dawg thanks man. Wearing it almost constantly lately. Pretty rewarding:
-
@beef_bonanza Whooo! Look at THAT! NICE NICE NICE
-
@Tago-Mago 14oz OD really is beautiful how it fades. Nice chalky blues.
-
Slow fader.....

Gave mine its first wash the other day after over 2 years of wear. Couldn‘t be happier about the result. From now on I am gonna wear and wash the hell out of it.
-
@beef_bonanza oooh yeah!! Looks like an indigo jacket now! Holy smokes, it looks fantastic.
-
Thank you @Oaktavia - as mentioned before, the overdyed fabric is really light sensitive when it comes to photographing. It might appear a bit more blue than in reality in these shots as it was a bright day. So the difference to before wash is not that big. However as you can see, the character of the fabric is really coming through now.

@beef_bonanza Either way, at some point and with this type of lighting, it does not lie. The jacket may appear darker in lower light, but do not sell yourself short- you are killing this jacket.
-
Absolutely and the jacket is too damn good not to do so. Also I consider the high amount of black dye a good thing. It really adds a special flavour compared to „just“ indigo.

For sure man, I'm glad we both have OD jackets. I think OD looks best in jacket form.

Grabbed one of these in my size on self edge. Was waiting for a SEXI25 but this will check three boxes that one doesn't. 1. The old style sulphur OD. 2. A lighter weight denim perfect for summer. 3. The oxidized buttons
. Also, imo $525 is a lot of money for something with no track record. Nope not a gambler

I’ve had one of these for a while now. It’s not as light as one might think. The OD process definitely adds some heft. I do love it though.
-
@SFMCfranky lighter than a 21oz 526?
-
I don’t own a 21 oz. Type III. But I do own a 19 oz. type I and the 14 oz OD is heavier and thicker than that one for sure.
-
@goosehd 100% agree with the above
️ my 14oz OD jeans in this denim are so “dense” I guess would be the word. Hardly any tiny gaps in the weave at all. They absorb heat and sunlight like crazy too, almost burns my hands touching them when I’ve been outside in the sun
slightly lighter weight for sure but not so sure about summer weight 🥵
