IHJ-147-BRN - 9oz Canvas Type III Jacket - Brown
-
The pics look great but the measurements less so. These seem to read wider/shorter than my existing type iiis. The body measurements that look best for me give a length almost 2 inches shorter than my current Tiiis but going up a size looks huge on the body but without much gain in length. I guess I’ll wait for the next thing to come along, but good luck to folks that like a shorter jacket (or are just short people
)!

@DeeDee85 funny for me it's the opposite, I like that it's a little shorter so I don't have to worry about it being too long when sized right for chest and shoulders like the lefty od... Only thing that I am not sure about is the sleeve length and the (maybe little) too light fabric.

Keep your cool and trust in Haraki

@FlavourFade I can understand that, as much as I love the length on my OD lefty, it does seem a bit strange when I first put it on after wearing one of my others. My 14oz indigo/black one is my best fitting, that one is perfect in length. The khaki corduroy and modified duck were too short and I couldn’t make work at all

incoming khaki corduroy Sherpa
(I missed this... Info??)

@Chaintitch pretty sure there’s a pic of the sample on the samples page too if you scroll back far enough
-
@DeeDee85 I figured but didn't want to doom scroll in futility.
Back on topic: the 147 looks great! I love short (hand-pocketed) jackets with long sleeves...
-
@Chaintitch will you be picking this one up?
-
It's been on my S/S Want list, but I may be stuck between sizes on this one, on account of the wider body... The cut on the indigo/black 14oz Type III is indeed the gold standard.

Haraki knew what he was doing with this one ... Fit is amazing. XL for reference.
-
What are your impressions of the fabric/weight?
-
@labrat fit looks great. How are you liking it so far?
-
Thank you, sir…I believe this is a seriously underrated piece. The fabric with the red stitching is absolutely killer—I can’t wait to see how it ages and develops character. It should fade pretty quickly, right? Just a heads-up, the color is slightly darker in person than in photos. I’d definitely recommend it if you don’t mind the slightly shorter body length.
-
Those are washed and the product photos of both colors show pretty significant initial fading, so I'd bet these are fast faders. It doesn't feel too light? I don't think I've owned a cotton jacket that weighs less than 12oz.
