These succulents’ flowers only open up around midday and begin to close up again after the strong midday sun drifts past its peak radiative power. They are pretty when one sees the large areas they manage to cover on these arid terrains.

I see other folks on here posting beautiful flowers. Here are a few from our backyard in West Virginia. Irises came from North Carolina. And a mystery perennial spherical flower in our garden.

Do you know if it is possible to make more using seeds from one plant? We only have one in our garden and I would love to have more.

Possibly, but they are bulbs and so growing from seed would take ages.

@Giles Ahh okay... I was wondering the same about irises. I see seed pods on the plants later in the year and was curious how seeds become bulbs. Also, thanks for the link.
