There is a big difference between the size charts of these and the green version. BEI is 1.4" smaller in the waist and 3" longer in the inseam than the GRN for size 32 ? Is that accurate ?

That is pretty common for all pants, as you may well have noticed. Has taken IHUK 10+ years to get IHJP to make uneven sizes in pants, we havent won the argument in shorts yet.

Just deciding on my size, the waist seems quite generous so may size down, I am not familiar with the fabric do we think it will stretch?
