Thanks to this forum, I could enter the universe of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Bought ’Paper Mâché’ first and Quarters! last week. With this beautiful sounding version, each 10:10 runtime song is pressed on one side.
The Guardian Review from 2015 here.
Still stucked in 2015 … next step 2016!

Excellent sounds herein

@68degreesorless
It manages to showcase how talented, and how flakey Mike Bloomfield was in a single album. -
@NickD indeed, well said. Mr stills is a nice fill in also
-
@GraemeE - The Age of Steam is a strong name for an album - one to ten in Ohio is a good tune

From last weekend.
More about this record here.
Love the Hohner D6/Fender Rhodes driven spaceship vibe in front of what could be the Machu Picchu.

@Aetas great album! My brother gifted me this one after he and I listened to Headhunters together.

Finally got my hands on the proper mix. Had it on cd first time on vinyl. Very special album and i’m so happy it got re-released for RSD 2025
the mix story:
The subtitle is explained by the fact that the tracks were originally scheduled for release in April 2003 under the title Country on the Click.[2] Promotional copies were sent out and three of the new songs were previewed in the band's 23rd Peel Session, recorded on 19 February and broadcast on 13 March 2003. Smith was unhappy with the mix and decided it needed further work, stating in November 2003:"The frustration is when people embellish what you're doing. I thought this LP was perfect round about March. But then you trust people—them who shall remain nameless—to go away and mix it and it comes back sounding like Dr. Who meets Posh Spice. You have to go back in and strip it down to what it basically was."[2]
