I wanted to add a spot for Master Supply Co Leather goods. Not sure about you, but I have to many expensive habits. So when I began searching for a decent quality leather jacket it was a slog. Schott, Aero, Y'2, Simmons, Fine Creek. All super quality and super expensive. My first purchase was a Thursday natural cafe racer. Wow.... What a POS. $370 was 3x what this piece was worth. It weighed about a pound. Thursday sure made it look great. Returned it.
Master Supply had been hijacking my social media feed as soon as I searched for a "leather jacket". I ordered their Daytona Reload racer jacket. Wow again but this time a good wow. Very well made, very heavy. It was to small for me and here is where they really shined. The jacket (a XXL) barely fit over a t shirt. And the biggest problem was my tall frame and long arms. Both length and sleeves were to short. I sent "them" and email on a Friday evening expecting a reply the next week. Minutes later I was replied to. By Josh, one of the owners! He recommended a custom jacket and helped me with the measurements. Saturday I had completed the measurements and had paid for the return label, emailed the measurements to MS. Then I waited another 10-15 minutes before Josh again answered. My custom jacket will be here in a few weeks. The only additional cost I incurred was the return shipping of the ill fitting jacket but that is even absorbed as the new custom is shipping free.(Normally 19.99)

How’s the jacket now that you have a couple months with it? I need a new leather jacket, but nobody has what I want in stock. I’m considering a Master Supply jacket in the mean time.

@Go-For-Chill it's a great jacket. Fits great, still not broken in. I just ordered an Aero though so it will probably be on eBay or FB marketplace soon.

I'm a fan of MSC. I have their natural field jacket and love it. With that said, I wonder what you all think of this "pinstripe" sample piece they have posted on their Instagram. See photo:

@indigo_fades I’m pry going to come off a bit of a prat here but there is a MSC in every industry. Find an established formula that works and copy it. With little to no ingenuity, it is hard to offer up any praise. At least when they knocked off TJs Y2 chore coat, they added side pocket entries over the traditional chore pocket. While this piece is a wabash western, something every heritage brand offers, from what I can see, there is literally nothing distinguishing this piece as a MSC over the IHSH-62. I’m all for inspiration but this is a little too “copy the smart kid sitting next to you in class”

@flannel-slut Agreed. I commented on their page that they could have changed SOMETHING. They kept the tag placement, font color, and the buttons exactly the same. All easy opportunities to change a little something to at least help distinguish it from the IH Wabash. I know there are only so many designs available for traditional style shirts, and many of the repro companies market their shirts as a repro, so it works. However, to keep every detail the same and intentionally not acknowledge the source to take credit seems devious.

@flannel-slut well said. I was actually looking into their leather chore coat and found out they operate out of my city. I still may get one eventually. That said, their Wabash looks to be a copy of Ironheart with no originality to it. Even using their logo in yellow on the pocket sort of irks me to be honest. Im guessing the people they’re marketing towards don't know about Ironheart .

Similarly, I recently looked to save some coin on sweatpants and went w Bronson Mfg. they’re made out of some very impressive (for the price point) 20oz terry cloth but you would not believe how badly they fucked the cut. I’ll have to post about it on the Bronson thread but 99 times out of 100, you pay for what you get

Oh man. Bronson is great for tshirts but I guess you have to be careful with their other stuff. Honestly I’m in love with Uniqlo’s “HEATTECH PILE LINED SWEAT PANTS“ so comfortable and most importantly warm. Bought 4 colours and wear em every morning for our sub zero walks. Not sure if you’re in winter temperatures, but these are awesome. They have regular jogging pants too. I think Uniqlo is the only reason I succumb to the “Daddy, I want to go to the mall” requests. 🤣probably my favourite mass market chain. You often get a fuctone more than you paid for over there.

@Chibs it was my first and only purchase from Bronson… and to be honest the quality of the 20 oz fabric still has me looking at their loopwheel and Henley offerings but this is wear I’m looking to save a buck. I’ll definitely be checking out Uniqlo’s sweatpants offerings

@flannel-slut Funny, I had a similar experience with the Bronson 1930 Boxing Sweater recently. The fabric is superb (Probably the best fabric of any sweatshirt I've ever worn, even over Lady White Co and Iron Heart), but the cut was HORRIFIC. It was choking me so much that I actually seam ripped the collar, cut the neckline down in the front, and sewed it back together. And it's just now bearable, still not perfect. Here's a before and after picture I posted on a Reddit thread a few weeks ago when I did this:
                                      1000027778.jpg

                                      1000027804.jpg

Also, be careful - apparently the loopwheel t-shirts they advertise aren't actually loopwheel, it's just the name.
