@Tyler-Durden they both look fantastic! I am packed with bottoms atm but the mf stuff looks very cool. They also have a slubby chambray I find very interesting
-
@FlavourFade
where did you get it ? -
@Daniel-San Stuff F - Not really my favourite store but they have a couple nice things
-
@FlavourFade
they definitely have .
didn’t see the RB in indigo indigo there -
My ranch blouse arrived! What a jacket. Or maybe more like a shirt? It's definetely short!! But I like the fit and will wear it a lot! Not sure if I will soak only the arms maybe since they are kind of bulky but will keep them body raw as long as possible because I don't want to loose more length tbh
-
@FlavourFade I would cold soak the entire jacket. Instructions from the MF website:
"The Mister Freedom
Ranch Blouse comes raw/unwashed, and will shrink to tagged size.
Follow the usual recommended initial method before wearing:
-
Cold soak for 30mn,
-
Washing machine spin dry
-
Line dry.
Please refer to sizing chart to determine which size works for you.
CL's Advice: I wear my usual Ranch Blouse size in this “Double Indigo” edition, a cold-soaked 38."
If you plan to only soak the arms, you will be unable to wash the torso when the time comes (it getting dirty) without shrinking it at that time. Might become problematic down the road if you spill anything on your chest or stomach. I know I spill my dinner and particularly dessert on my torso while wearing denim without even knowing half the time.
Remember, the RB are designed to be super short and you will lose up to two inches in length. So if it feels short, that's a good thing.

@Oaktavia thanks for the advice!! What could happen if I don't soak it before wearing and maybe wait until it needs to be cleaned? I like that it's short and boxy but hesitate because I am not sure if it still is cool with 2 inches less body length
-
@FlavourFade if you wait to soak now but soak/wash it later (when it needs it/gets dirty/stinks), you risk the dreaded fade shift. This means your fades will likely not line up in the same places before you soaked it due to the denim shrinking with water. And you will still get that shrinkage in length too. Basically, if you don't soak or wash it now, don't soak it ever...but that is not a sustainable gameplan IMO.
-
@Oaktavia the master has spoken
makes total sense. I will soak it once I am back home and can't wait for the results.
-
@FlavourFade my RB fit very similar to yours pre soak. Below are pictures of mine post soak to give you an idea where yours may end up.

@flannel-slut this one shrunk nicely and is nice and form fitting. @FlavourFade your torso has some room to shrink to become a nice fit like Mr. Slut's. I was worried mine would shrink too much before I soaked mine. I think you will be pleased with your results. It will just take some getting used to, length-wise. The only IH jacket I have that is comparable to the RB length is the non-modified 22OD T3.
-
Soaked 30 min cold and put on damp to set the creases. It has become smaller but like you said @Oaktavia @flannel-slut it is now fitting better! The length is definetely something to get used to and the sleeves are now a tad shorter than I'd love but anyway. Funny thing is that due to the slim waist I can't button up my 3XL IH type 3 but I can with the ranch blouse in 42. I think this is a result of the boxy fit.
Please excuse the outfit, came straight out of the gym

@FlavourFade looks great man. It’s definitely a short cut but think it makes for a great spring summer fit with a tucked in tee.
-
Killer with some high rise 888s too to offset the short length… tho you may be onto something with your current fit
-
@flannel-slut thanks man !! I think the 1955s will work great with them but even 555 with a fairly high rise as well are spot on
-
Maybe this is helpful - I think the body didn't shrink as much as the arms - I like the jacket to sit properly on the waist and def. prefer the post vs. the pre soak fit.

Agreed for sure, I did this all of last spring. It'll fade like crazy and you will likely notice evo each time you wear it. And now that the shrink is out, you can wash it whenever you need to. Wearing a jacket in warm weather usually requires more washing. Mine got pretty grimey!
-
@Alexander oh yeah pre and post fit like night and day. Fit is perfect on that one.
-
@Alexander good comparison! It fits you like tailormade!!
