@Davids_denim I hear ya i have the same problem. I have a stockpile but I am going to go back to my last bridge pair (N&F MIJ10) after the competition. I have several picked out to wear for y5. I think I am going to go with a pair of black denim I haven't faded out a pair of black denim before.

@markus_berlin_ Thanks! Did you end up grabbing the UHR?
Yes
And I try to wear them every day as long as I can
-
@pmadison95 I’m going with the 21oz for the bridge this year.
Excellent idea going with a black pair next year. I wore the black Onis for year 3 and honestly miss wearing black jeans. -
Around 150 days in mine. I wear them everyday all day. After wearing a lot of IH offerings now. These are hands down my favorite!
-
Realized I forgot to post my 12 month shots from the invitational over here, also including some pictures of the damage that’s about to get repaired.
-
@Davids_denim amazing fading man. Really inspiring me to break mine out. They’ve been neglected this winter.
-
@SKT Thanks! It’s a great denim.
-
@Davids_denim They look great Lots of wear & tear.
-
@Davids_denim how many washes on these do you figure? Still admiring
-
@SKT 10 I think.
pre soak then first wash at 3 months then monthly washing. -
@Davids_denim fantastic. You beat the crap out of these and they look awesome
-
@SKT thanks man, I worked hard to make sure I did these justice.

If wanting to minimize shrinkage in the thigh and knee measurement would it be reasonable for a cold soak and cold wash?
-
@bluemantra my advice would be
- turn them inside out
- get them wet through, submerge in a sink/bathtub
- once completely wet, wash at 30c on little/no spin
- once finished, turn the right way out, straighten out any creases
- leave to drip dry
This method will keep agitation to a minimum. The "get wet before washing" seemed a bit odd to me at the start, but it really does reduce unwanted streaks/creases - I learnt the hard way by skipping this step on a pair of SBG denim!
-
@AdamJ Thank you Adam. I went ahead and followed these steps and indeed got minimal to no shrinkage. As long as I wash the same in the future can I expect minimal to no further shrinkage?
Pre-wash:
Waist: 33.4"
Thigh 12"
Knee 8.7"
Hem 8.3"
Inseam 36"Post Wash:
Waist 33.4" (After stretching)
Thigh 11.9"
Knee 8.5"
Hem 8.1"
Inseam 35" -
@bluemantra Nice one, yeah you should be fine. Once they've had a couple of washes like that there shouldn't be much shrinkage left in the fabric if at all
-
Figured I'd add another couple of pics as a sort of 6 month wear reference. Worn pretty much daily, not washed yet
-
@Llew81 these look fantastic dude and thank you for sharing. Photos help answer many questions about wear and fades. They can even help answer questions that have not been asked yet. 6 month photos in particular provide a visual benchmark of what fade potential is at this checkpoint.
-
@Oaktavia No worries.. that's exactly what I use the forum for really is seeing what the garments might look like after a while so the more references the better!
