It's hard to say as different fabrics have different thicknesses, etc. In a UHF flannel I usually go for ~23 inches in the P2P measurement. I can go a bit thinner in something that will stretch, like a T-shirt, and usually size down to an L in those for a fitted look.

For reference, I just measured myself at 42inches around my chest (taken at nipple height) but was a bit tricky to measure myself.

The M was tight in the armpits and the biceps. The L is what I’d go for especially considering the overall length and wearing it over a flannel or hoodie.

If you aren’t feeling the length then this jacket may not be for you. It’s short by design. If it were longer it wouldn’t be a flight jacket. I don’t mind shirts sticking out of the bottom.

That was my hesitation. It was XXXXL or nothing for me, and just had some reservations about the fit. Truly one of the best looking jackets I've seen in a while. Can't wait to see more photos! Congrats
