Thought I got lucky with a slightly used pair, got fucked instead.
Received a badly hemmed pair, which may or may not just be savable.
Can anyone please post a picture of the original hem & stitch?

@Bailey Perfect, that helps a lot. Should have some material left, so length could just be manageable. Will take them to Kentaurus tomorrow...

@Graham Here you go. I guess the best way is to open the old hem, gain some length and put a proper chainstitch jeans hem back on?

So it looks like these have been flat stitched that is quite a laborious task of unpicking them stitch by stitch to then re-hem them at the same length - you may gain a fraction of an inch due to the flat stitch fold being a little wider than a chain stitch. This can be done but does take a while.

Alternativly, you can lop it off at the stitch/fold but bear in mind that you will loose a further 1" /2.5cm on top of what you cut off to create the new fold for a chain stitch.

I have no length I can lose, they are borderline too short. So this is the way… If I gain half an inch, that is fine. I‘ll unpick them this evening instead of watching TV!

Nice, pre-unpicking before taking them to Kent would def be helpful for them. We look forward to seeing them all chain stitched up!

@Graham Here are the results, gained 5/8" in total length. Now at 32.5", where I would have had them hemmed anyway. I hope that the wear marks of the old hem will disappear into my own fades quickly. I'm (sort of) happy.
