With the next tour starting soon, some work has to be done on the endomobile. Today, Mrs E and I installed a new awning.

Yes, but step by step. Probably not before next year.

Since I can do trips during the conversion, I really don't mind how long it's going to take. It's more that there is a logical order. First all cutouts, then insulation, then water and electricity, and only then furniture. And I'm not even done with the cutouts. But it's so much fun, I really like working on it. And travelling with it.

@endo Are there any rules or regulations concerning these type of conversions? Can you just about do anything you want as long as you don't alter the structural members? It looks like most of the work you're doing is sheeting alterations and why I ask. Also, does the vehicle have to be reinspected prior to use?

Right @goosehd as long as you don't touch the frame of the car and use licensed built-in parts it should be no problem with the technical safety inspection. This is not immediately necessary, only within the usual 2-year interval, which will be Feb 2026 here.

The 3 windows I've built in now are from Dometic, a leading producer for outdoor parts here in Europe. But there are also other good companies. It has become a huge market.

The car is now still registered as truck, which costs lots more for tax and insurance than a RV. Once I've the water/sink and the gas/stove installed a can get it registered as an RV, but for that I've to get it reinspected.

The next 10 days will just be relaxing, hiking, swimming, SUPing (although there‘s no ‚standing-up‘ for me so far. And good food and wine, of course.
