My usual waywt backdrop has been undergoing a massive transformation lately. The forest had been closing in on us in a dangerous way, so we had about 30 hundred-foot trees removed. Some of which were death traps on a timer. Stumps ground, yard leveled and seeded. Gardens going up, a new shed and chicken coop, a mini duck pond. A lot to work on but we’re making progress!

@WhiskeySandwich right on, man! Chickens are fun — I had a few 10ish years ago, really enjoyed it.

Yeah chickens are super fun. Also had a pretty good coop some years back. So entertaining to just sit with a beer and watch them establish a pecking order and cluck about. Their personalities start to pop up and it’s hilarious.

In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

Six yards of mulch to spread on the gardens. Would have been easier a month ago before everything started growing.

@SKT Agreed! Love how it contrasts with the green of most plants and really compliments each other the best in my opinion. I tried red one time and it didn’t look very good at all especially after a few months.

Pro Tip: This is the first year using a 6 tine/prong pitchfork to move/shovel mulch. Best tool I’ve found to do the job (by hand).
