Any word if the unmodified version of this jacket will ever be back in stock? I had one and it was damaged in a fire, now I am looking to replace it. Not sure how I feel about those pockets.

very much a beginner with this kind of clothing. somewhat old, stiff hands, but not weak....I simply cannot do the buttons. I unbuttoned them, but trying to button them again while wearing this - i simply can't do it. Is there some kind of trick that i'm missing? Frustrating because i love the way the jacket looks.

Stretch out the buttonholes with a pair of pliers and it might be easier for you!

@sabergirl Nice idea, but the material doesn't seem to stretch when i do that. not getting anywhere.

@Nelson-Baboon use some pliers and pull and stretch a few times. Also buttoning and undo them without wearing the jacket seems to help for my xhs for example. Don’t give up. No pain no gain

@Heavy_blue made some progress. I was able to button 2 of the buttons. Eventually i'll get there, but at this rate it will take a very long time. it will make the jacket so much more satisfying once i get it.

@Nelson-Baboon Ahh, the joys of the 21oz superblack. That is one of the most stubborn denims IH puts out. Only patience is your friend here.

anyone know how soft these end up getting compared to the fades to grey? i know they start out v, v stiff, but with a lot of wear? deciding between the two type 3s when they release

@akohut This denim softens up with wear well, i don't feel a tangible difference between this denim and 21oz SBG after similar wear time

Hey guys,

I have a question about sizing on this jacket... I have tried on a XXL in the indigo version at a local shop, fit great. Looks like the sizing guide says that the super black has shorter arms by a decent amount, but all other measurements are comparable in the same size. Is there something different about the way the superblack fits? why does iron heart make this jacket with noticeably shorter sleeves than the indigo? I have quite long arms. I'm nervous about ordering up a size in case the rest of it becomes too boxy. Thanks

@bunger First thing I need to know is what jacket you tried on so that I can look up the product for sizing reference.

The 21 oz modified type 3 in indigo

@bunger The posted product listing for the IH-9526PJ’s sleeve length is 26.6 inches.

The 21 oz modified type 3 indigo’s posted sleeve length is 27.2 inches.

The difference between them is approx. 1/2 inch which may be due to the variability between production runs, factory making them, etc. It’s not a planned change and I would say fairly normal.

You will also find variances in the same run and same jacket size in the sleeve length. Maybe not 1/2 inch, but there will be some.

If you have a desired sleeve length, are buying it from IHUK, then the solution is to post a request in the comments section of the sales check out specifically asking for your desired sleeve length.

Another option is to email the guys at IHUK: shop@ironheart.co.uk beforehand asking if they have any of your desired jacket’s dimensions in stock. They will see what they have and get back to you and make sure that you get what you are happy with.

I’ve done this many times in the past and the guys are always extremely helpful. It’s one of the main reasons why IHUK has so many repeat customers.
