This shirt fits just right - 193 lbs, 5’11”, all XL. For sizing, I would say to realize that there is no stretching anywhere on these beasts - not in the sleeves, the neck, etc - so choose your size wisely. I fit a M in the 6.5 oz oddly just fine, but it’s a different item - this one just sort of (initially) sits on you - so there’s not a lot of give.

I have been searching the “perfect t-shirt” for literally years - and have now found it 🙏🏽🙏🏽 now what to do with the other, inferior ones 🤣🤣😞

Any word on the stitching thread on these? Is it poly or cotton? I’m looking at dying one, but if the thread is poly the dye won’t take and will remain white, in the case of a white shirt. Thank you.

@indigostiff hi man, I have dyed both a white and cream 1600, indigo and brown respectively and I can confirm the stitching is polycotton and remains white

correct, the thread seems to be poly, doesn't take the dye

I have used Dharma Trading's procion 2-stage dyes in the past - a bit of work, but won't fade out to mush. You can modify the dye amounts to get a nice faded-dye look, too, which stays steadfast. https://www.dharmatrading.com/dyes/dharma-fiber-reactive-procion-dyes.html

I dyed this shirt using susuzome dye, which is a natural Japanese dye made from the soot of burnt pine wood. Ended up dying it twice as the first round resulted in a pretty light grey. I was hoping for a little more consistency in the variation, but overall I'm pretty pleased with the result. I really like how the bottom half turned out, but it gets a little plain on the upper half. Might go for a third round some day... we'll see.
