I make my own belts. I reuse second hand German Army (Bundeswehr) belts (Feldkoppel) because I like the buckle:

The top one is a new one I made this spring. The other one is a few years old. Both belts are 5cm wide which is a little bit to much.

@Boris-0 Nice, i like em! How's the buckle attach? Is a loop and prong? That's one thing I have to have on mine is snaps to change out the buckle.

I finished making my own belt, too.
With the stainless buckle from China, see link somewhere above, and some 38mm wide and 4mm thick leather, it makes a really sturdy belt - without any holes.

I like the no-no holes solution. Sweet belts dudes.

The one I tried to dye and failed, I’ll probably just rock it anyway and let it be. Maybe try again down the road if I get bored.

Here’s what it looks like after all the dye scrubbed off. It’s a bit “fauxtina” but I’m cool with it.

                    Hey Guys,
I made myself a new belt. Leather is 3,5mm thick vegetable tanned cowhide that I dyed on the surface using India Ink. My hope is that I will get similar effects as "teacore" dyed leathers with wear.

@maxximum Fiebing’s acrylic leather dye. It worked great until I started buffing it, which they recommended lol. Water stripped the surface coat off, but the top leather retained some pigment.

@WhiskeySandwich weird. Never worked with acrylic dye before. But isn't that essentially just paint and does not penetrate into the leather?
I have some experience with alcohol based dyes that really penetrate deep into the leather and even come out on the other side off the leather is 1mm or so.
The India ink I used in the belt above is water based and does not penetrate deep, but it penetrates at least the top layer.

Anyone here have a tasteful solution for belts that are a little too long? I have two very nice Momotaro belts that I’m on the second innermost hole and there’s quite a bit of excess hanging out. I know I could cut it, they have a nice imprint on the tip so it would be a little heartbreaking to cut off. I refuse to allow myself to get any bigger lol.

I was thinking of a silver money clip kinda deal to keep it secure and not flopping around, just haven’t found anything tasteful yet. Any other ideas?

@nrtphotos I have a belt and a couple wallets from this dude and if I recall correctly, he does custom stuff too. Great quality for the money. If you email him he could probably send you one of the belt loops that are removable on his belts and you could just slide it on where needed. Or use something like this if you do t wanna cut it.
