Found a stick insect on the side of our house this evening.

Edit: looking closer, it seems to be missing a back leg.

Saw a beautiful Monarch on our Sunday family hike

In the field yesterday ran across this mid-sized tarantula. They are never small, this one was about 10 cm diameter. Been a long time since I last saw one. She was out hunting as the sun fizzled out and things began to cool down. Only detedted us when we were 3 mts away and froze in this position.

Look at this crazy lookin' fecker. Looks like a wasp, actually is a fly. You can tell by the eyes...beady little eyes. It's called the Virginia flower fly.
