Is there a reason to soak the 526 OD when you get it like there’s is with the Indigo version?

Not necessarily .
I do it with all my new jeans and jackets to get the folding creases out. Specially on od stuff pretty important if you ask me. Otherwise you might get lines .
Than I think it jump starts the fading, but that’s just my experience. -

@PJS I ordered a size S of both the OD and the indigo. Usually for other IH jackets I have taken an XS ( my usual size). Since I have little experience with IH products, I believe it is essential to choose by checking the measurements in the tables because they vary a lot from item to item, from color to colour. I don't like jackets that are too short so I chose one size up and I think I was right.

Mine will arrive today!
I chose a size L, like the UHFs, as I like jackets tight and close-fitting.
For comparison, I have an XL Levi’s trucker and I feel it’s too wide at the chest and shoulder-sloppy. -
In California for a wee bit, so able to wear mine a little at night — caught it looking foxy on the back of a chair this morning in the sun. Complete w Shrig pin

Wearing my new 526LOD a few minutes at 33°C+ just to capture a shot.
Picked an L, just the perfect right size
Here's the 526LOD compared to a Reloved 526J I recently purchased.
The 21oz has no side pockets: I like the style better, but the inner sides of the of the hand warmers are so handy (no pun intended).
Can't say which one I love best; I'll love 'em both link I'm bigamist!

"Love the OD stuff, and dig the shorter, classic denim jackets, and I don't think I could have resisted a 526Jod right now, even though the number of jackets is getting a bit silly. I think I may be able to resist getting the 526J, we shall see.

@JunkPants if it's any consolation in the last year I have taken a 526PJ 21oz, a 526J-SLBOD, a 526L, a 526L OD and an Extractor should arrive tomorrow. ... always if my partner doesn't decide to choke me in my sleep

Didn't get a full season out of this last year due to the heat, so I'm looking forward to putting it through the ringer this Fall/Winter.
Had about ten weeks of daily wear and one wash.
Some slight marbling on the back (washed on low spin rather than no spin) but I think it adds character.

@Daniel-San yes and yes, with the lowest spin cycle my machine allowed.
Will do no spin next time, and just deal with the laborious drip-dry! Too impatient, that's my problem...
It's all good, still love the jacket, and marbling becomes less pronounced with time.
