      Found this hidden behind a Fortaleza Blanco bottle in an Aspen liquor store. Fortaleza is hard to find around here much less the still strength, my favorite one. Super lucky grab.

        @mclaincausey I’m pretty sure that Fortaleza is pretty hard to find almost everywhere,especially the Still Strength,which at this point I would have to say is the best blanco I’ve ever tasted. Great score!

          @mclaincausey A liquor store in NYC has this rare Still Strength Single Barrel Reposado by Fortaleza. It’s going to be 15% off on 7-26,which is still pretty expensive for me. Wish I knew someone who would/could split it with me. The price isn’t showing. It’s $250

              @Jett129 love the normal reposado. Man I beet that one is great too.

              @ARNC thats a great cocktail and easy to scale up which can be handle due to the equal parts. I make big ole thermoses of it for camping 🤣

                  @Paul9221 That particular bottle is unique to a liquor store in NYC,and as I mentioned it’s going to be on sale for about $212,which is a little bit out of my reach right now. It’s not the generic Fortaleza Reposado.

                    @mclaincausey I tend to go with the more modern recipes with more bourbon (3:2:2 or 2:1:1) but I guess it’s still scaleable. Not sure much else would happen if I took a thermos with me on a trip 😃

                          Also a big campari fan. My favorite use is in a cocktail called Eeyore's Requiem. Kinda crazy mix of things but it works oh so well. Also uses most of my favorite things with campari, fernet, cynar, and blanc vermouth.

                          I recently branched out though to other "red bitters" and discovered I might like the Leopold version even more than the OG....

                            @mclaincausey They’re all incredibly great. 1579 is my wife’s all time favorite,but for me,the fact that the 1123 was aged in wet Mezcal barrels and has a slightly higher proof, and comes from the Cascahuin Distillery. Ding,Ding,Ding we have a winner. Look forward to hearing your assessment.

                                    @Matt $39 for a bottle of Campari???? 🫣 it’s approx €16 ($15) for a litre here in Germany.

                                    Then again I’m guessing tequila, mezcal, bourbon and the likes are priced ridiculously over here compared to the US

                                      Probably shouldn’t be thinking about such things so early in the morning 😃

                                        Thanks, @ARNC ! That sounds right up my alley. Think I have another amaro that might be able to sub in for the Ferro china in that recipe. Is there anything in particular you know of that might be a good sub?

                                          @pechelman not that I’ve tried. As Cynar and Campari can often sub for each other, maybe adding a third red bitter would work? Currently I’m quite into Rinomato Bitter Scuro.

                                          Happy experimenting!
