I have never worn a pair of New Balance before and have worn ASICS for the past 35 years. Just picked up these, but you guys are seriously selling me on the NB’s. What should I look for when shopping for them?

In my experience the fit true to size. Made n USA and UK are great, but honestly they all are. I run in them as well. One of the few brands known for consistently selling wide versions if that suits you. I’ve also had quite a few pairs of trail runners and those are excellent as well.

I ended up purchasing a pair of Made in USA 998 from Nice Kicks (anyone have any experience with these guys?). My buddy bought a pair of 990 v5 and showed me the difference between the made in USA line and the others. I was sold immediately and was almost happy the 574 didn't fit right.

I couldn't make the 574s work...DM me.

Thanks man, I'm really looking forward to them. I went a size up from my 574s which I know are a different shoe but I still feel I should have gone with a 12 instead of an 11. I have gone back and forth between the two most of my grown up life. The 998 look super comfortable, do yo you have a pair?

I don’t think so. Got the v4 990s m the Grey Day color and love them. All my NBs have been 10s and the fit has been right on. 10 is my standard sneaker size. I typically go down 1/2 for boots and Chucks and up 1/2 for Nikes.

really like the MiUSA pr’s i have. blues have ~3 years of daily walking in them. blacks more for ‘dress’ sneakers. also have a pr of PF Fliers from when NB owned/made their US models but dont care for them as much.

and yeah… busted the black laces 2nd day i had them and so switched them out for sme spares i already had…‍️
