I picked up this pair on eBay, the seller said he has only given them a hot soak to get shrinkage out and his measurements were accurate. I noticed last night when I tried them on that the inside seam on the right leg is pulling out a little (see pics below). Is this something to be concerned about?

Cosmetically it bugs me a little. I brought it up to the seller and he apologized and said he would pay to have them repaired or handle it however I prefer, so he seems like a decent guy, I’m just not sure if it matters much. Thanks for any insights.

I’d take it to a tailor and ask them for some options and prices. It would likely not be expensive but if the dude wil cover it I say let him. Unless you got a good deal on them then maybe just eat it.

Hard to tell what I’m looking at there, but it looks like a bulge or flaw in the weave of the denim. Not sure what a tailor would really do about it. Maybe not much. I wouldn’t worry about it, if I were you

Ok thanks. As they wear in it’ll be less noticeable so I’m not too worried if it isn’t structural.

@chucklando maybe someone of the IH crew can chime in 🙂 only tip i can give you is that a hot soak isn’t enough if you wanna play by the UHR rules. UHR needs to be soaked and washed before you’re gonna wear them. It’s on a loomstate base wich means the denim and the threads will get stonger when you soak and wash it due of the agitation. It’s part of the UHR process

I just looked at it more closely. Doesn’t look like a stitching issue but rather a defect in the weave of the fabric. I think it’s fine as is and will settle with wear and wash.

Thanks for the your responses. Now that I looked a little harder, though, flipping them inside out and looking at the seams it actually looks like it’s busted in a few spots, causing the denim to pull apart slightly. Maybe they were worn without doing the soak/wash first causing them to thread to break.

Guess you are right , looks like they were worn without initial soak/wash . 🤔
