overall nobody believes it’s deerskin in the first place so they go like ‘huh really’? It’s very soft but then again you feel it’s very durable and definitely the shirt keeps you warm. It’s more a jacket kinda shirt then that it’s really ‘a shirt’ overall i would say that i you can afford the price it’s a must-have and a wild canvas wich you get totally paint in your own kinda way! -
Some serious indigo bleeding is going on! Alright so it was like 21 degrees celcius here last week so a little to hot for this buckie boy but we’re in it again! Still loving it but noticed one thing. When it gets in contact with water for example there was a raindrop on the sleeve. It looks like a spilled some coffee on my shirt.. it dries but the spot will stay visible nothing i care about cause it’s just one drop and in the end it will settle a ID unique to this shirt. But how’s that to the other buck shirts? Also can i threat it to make it water repellent or so? Overall.. amazing shirt!

So i’m almost a month in this big buckie boy so i wanna share my thought about this one.
Let me start to say how blessed i feel to have this shirt in my collection. I’ve been eyeing the threads of the black and the olive version and lately i was on the fence for the Pale Rider untill this beauty came on my path.
It’s a sample shirt and since i never had a deerskin product or even a leather shirt i didn’t know what to expect.. offcourse i did had some leather jackets throughout my life but never in this price-range or this quality.
So we have a western shirt and it’s made outta deerskin, deerskin had the ability to be very soft but yet very durable and warm. All this boxes are hit. When it came in it was the biggest IH green bag i’ve seen
Tried it on and the size was spot on i can wear closed or open. Due the soft and cozy hide inside it’s so comfortable to wear.
During my days that i’ve spent in this shirt there are some little stains on it, some waterdrups and with 2 kids things can only go wrong, but it’s all part of the process. Also the sun already had some effect and i can really see the shirt ‘mature’ it’s loosing it virgin natty color and is becoming truly ‘mine’
The raindrups i’ve noticed are gone since a friend of mine pointed me to a nubuck/roughout kit from red-wing wich i still had somewhere so i digged that one up, tried it and.. magic!! Spots are gone, not that i’m going fancy or crazy cause in the end it need to get my iD but overall i like my stuff clean.
It goes good with all my denim, XHSbb, UHR, 21Lefty but lately i’ve been thinking.. this would look really cool with some white denim.. don’t you think?
Also it’s picking up some real indigo bleeding and gives it a unique hint of indigo meets deerskin. Also it looks awesome with some lofgrens in natty leather! Natty boy i am!
Stitching is truly on point and the hide itself has some ‘scars’ but idc it’s all part of this deerhide. So all at all there is nothing to complain about i just wanna fast forward and see how it looks over a year or so.
I also decided not to do any fancy projects on this one just wanna trow some life on it and see how this go. Maybe i’ll make it water repellent but i’ll see. Gonna wear the heck out of it as long as it possible! I’ll take it with me to Hamburg PARTY!!! So you can all feeeeeel how soft i am.. uh i ment the shirt.. the shirt.. alrightie folks! Please don't treat Sämisch tanned deerskin with anything, no repellents, they will ruin it. Getting patina is part if the game, particulary with the natural. If you have any issues with stains get in contact with https://www.gerberei-kolesch.de/ or me.

If you want to clean your shirt in small areas take a little piece of the same kind and colour of the shirt leather (Kolesch Company supplies such leftover leather) and rub strong against dirty surface. As chap said do not use water or something else. To clean bigger areas could be lead to hard work
