@steelworker. Being from VA/WV I may have had squirrel gravy once or twice in my youth 🙂

That’s what my dad taught me during the 70’s, early 80’s and you did what you had to. He did everything under the sun to put food on the table and taught me how to never go hungry. With a fishing pole, .22lr, and the ability to plant a garden, you’ll never go hungry.

I once did a 'survival' weekend course with my boys. The guy (an ex-special forces) told us you need 22 squirrels per day to feed your daily needs of calories. European squirrels may be smaller than American, but I your dad must have been a good shooter.

(We ate rat on that weekend.)

Well... No more shopping at Albam Clothing (UK)... 124€ import fee for a rather small order... I ordered there in December '22 and didn't have to pay owt... Weird...

A crying shame, really... Can't be good for their business if us (real) €uropeans can't even order...

It's a Brexit thing. I have been accused of being too openly pro-remain, but I still have not heard a single positive argument for leaving. It's not good for The EU and it's not good for The UK. A month or two after the split, I was contacted by a Dutch jeans maker, prior to Brexit, The UK had been his largest market when he wrote to me, he had not sold a single pair to the UK since the split.

If the items you bought were made in UK, you should not have been charged Duties, but VAT would have been due. If the items were not made in The UK or EU, you would have to pay Duties and VAT.

And not charging you anything in Dec 22, was pure luck 🙂

A boy in my youngest daughters class grabbed my daughter by the throat and said "I wish you were dead" during recess yesterday. I'm trying very hard not to go into full dad protectionist mode.

Teachers and the principal are involved and trying to sort everything out. I am awaiting their responses....

@goosehd that sucks, I hope the school deal with it appropriately and that it stops immediately.

My daughter was the target of some pretty insidious bullying by a girl in her class last year when she was 7. The girl in question clearly enjoyed being in charge of her clique. She’d tell lies about my daughter and manipulate the group to exclude her. We could tell my daughter was getting pretty miserable about school, but since it was a slow build kinda bullying, I don’t think my daughter recognised it for what it was. In any case, the school dealt with it incredibly well.

We had to really hammer home to my daughter that no one who is happy with themselves acts the way this girl did. People that are happy spread joy, people that are miserable spread misery. She totally got it and can now see this type of bullying for what it is, and I hope it’ll be less likely to effect her if she experiences it again.
