Legacy typo. should say one-washed. will be fixed....

                      Thanks, @AdamJ!

Another question, it looks like Giles estimated this around 6.5oz. This has also been noted to be a stretchy'ish and breathable or airy feeling shirt when worn as an outer layer with or without a tee under. Knowing that the 5oz Dobby Cloth is new this season, any thoughts on how these would compare for wearing in warmer weather and breathability?

Also, have either the buttons or button holes been updated for this run? Thought a couple made comments about buttons popping out on occasion.

Trying to decide on either this or the 5oz western dobby for a lighterweight summer shirt and only have room for 1 since they're both indigo.

My XXXL just showed up from Snake Oil Provisions and this thing is amazing! Stoked to finally get sizing right on IH Shirts and love the oddball texture on top of being super comfortable.

Anyone else find that this fabric is incredibly fragile? Got this yesterday, wore it a few hours today and already seeing stuff like this. Anything I can do to fix or stop this from happening? I was wearing it under a 189 today.

That’s pretty strange. I haven’t heard of anything like this with the 96 or any of the thermal shirts. I wonder what’s going on there. Looks like they could be pulled through from the inside. Weird.

It's really weird. I know the thermals are different fabric but the few I have are totally bomber and I treat them terribly. I wouldn't have even noticed until my wife said something when I took off the 189. I'll try to see if the thread makes itself obvious on the inside to pull through but hopefully one of the crew can comment too.

Overall this fabric is similar to one of my favorite travel shirts ever made by Patagonia that I've almost worn through now and it's never done anything like this.

This one’s been on my radar forever but the staples are tough to fit into the budget when something special and seasonal is always using up my dough.

Fixed it. Thanks for the tip @Matt. The waffle grid appears to be constructed by individual pairs yarns that run up and down and side to side. Something must have snagged one of them. To fix, gently use a needle to tease that yarn on either side of the snag to average it out. In the worst case, this took about 8-10 waffle grids on either side. Not sure I would be able to tell now where it was.

Having said all this, it does seem this fabric has what is e call a fragile face and would recommend caution if wearing a pack or anything with straps. I say this because before heading out for the day and donning the 189 I slung my work bag across my shoulder to move it. Must have caught some webbing or something.

Work bag sounds like the culprit. I don’t know if you’ve washed or soaked it yet but if not that could tighten up the weave for you.

ended up washing this shirt finally over the weekend. Hot soaked it just to saturate it, placed it in a garment bag, and tossed it into a front load washer on high, extra rinse, low spin with a couple of other items. Then placed it into a "Very Dry / High Heat" dry cycle.

I can't comment on if the face is any tougher now, but it definitely tightened up significantly, and in a good way for me.
Width dimension across the chest/waist/opening all tightened up about .75" and the garment and sleeve lengths shrunk by about 1.5".

Taking this shirt on a ~10day trip through Germany and Amsterdam soon and will report back on how it held up. Might subject it to a washer cycle on the way somewhere depending on how hot it is there.

Got the shirt this spring at Four Aces in Bremen, and I love how it has turned out. Been through some washes already, because it's easier to stretch the washing cycle with jeans.
