My BFA debt didn't stop me from getting the PhD...

@Nik did you choose to dig deeper into debt? Or are you fortunate enough to pay for it upfront? ... scholarship?

A mix. I got funding for most of it, worked during, but also took out more student debt. Glad I did. Being able to do that research has fulfilled my life beyond any price.

I used philosophy to analyse time in some crazy experimental performances

Sure, just google the one year long performances by Tehching Hsieh or the still-going 2007 name change piece by Janez Janša, Janez Janša, and Janez Janša and you’ll get the idea. When I graduated the head of department (who was neither Taiwanese nor Slovenian) had to read out those names in the title and she was not happy with me.

It was quite emotional opening up the cartons. Bernadette even sent me some bits and bobs that I had gifted Mike over the years....

And to crown it all, at the bottom of the last carton I opened, was, and I kid you not, this....
