The measurements for the Large are smaller than some of the Medium measurements (in the table above).

This could be an actual sizing anomaly as opposed to a measuring or typing error. All the measurements are close and the differences are small in both directions. In addition it is the two horizontal measurements that are bigger which supports the idea that this was just how they sewed up, rather than a clerical error. There is also the possibility that large M’s and small L’s were inadvertantly chosen for the aggregate measurements.

I’ve emailed the crew just in case.

Ugh ! I was so looking forward to this. I had my fingers crossed, the body length would be just where I wanted. But, if the length numbers are correct, these are even longer than the 526PJ(L-XXXXL).

Unfortunately, unless there is a mutant XXL/XXXL, around 26" in length, I'll have to take a hard pass.

Also interested in this. The length in both the sleeves and jacket seem to be longer than the modified type 3s? My understanding being that “modified” refers to exactly these measurements as well as the handwarmers?

These things don’t always work out as planned. There used to be two iterations of the duck type III, one modified, one traditional. But the traditional was about the same or slightly longer than the modified version. From experience, you can look at the sizing down to achieve a shorter length.

This turned out to be a little longer than we had planned for, but it is now what it is….

Can we get a Sam sighting in this jacket? Does he take a large? (Sam's my personal new fit benchmark or one size smaller than Giles). These numbers strike me as tight on the medium but MAYBE that is Sam's size if not the L? TIA yo.

Does anyone own both this jacket and the 526PJ? I like a deep, traditional indigo blue, and I'm wondering if the 22oz might look more vintage/ traditional than the 21oz selvedge on the PJ? I also love the brown weft on this one, but I've never seen this denim in person.

For reference, I have the 18oz IH-101J-SR, which has the deep indigo color I'm talking about. I have a 526PJ that I just received, but have not worn yet. I am just trying to decide whether to keep it or send it back and wait for the restock on the 526J-22.

I'm not sure if they're different enough to justify having both.

The 22oz presents as somewhat darker and richer in colour than the 21oz, probably because of less post weave processing, and the brown weft. It drapes in a similar fashion and fades quicker.
