Matt's New Mexico (Formerly Airstream) Adventure

Thank you. We’re loving it so far.
We head out on Tuesday for Ohio and I’m dropping some not so subtle hints that I’d like to check out the Rock & Roll HOF for my bday. We’ll see if that pans out but the planned attraction for that stay is our first National Park, Cayahoga Valley.

That tree model was really something to behold up close. It was hard to capture a photo that did it justice. Really creative and different. The flood was attributed to the spotty workmanship of the South Fork Fishing and Hunting Club. The flood killed over 2000 people. I recommend checking it out on Wikipedia. The events leading to the flood and the flood itself are pretty dramatic. We’re in Johnstown now. There’s another incline here so once we get to the top I’ll upload some pics of the town. This is our last excursion until we get to Ohio next week so there may not be much to report for a bit. Unless of course I go on a campfire bender fueled by craft beer and pot brownies and make an ass of myself. Hopefully my wife will get some pics of that. In all honesty I’ll probably just play Scrabble and watch What We Do In the Shadows on Hulu.

Thanks everyone. Johnstown was a real surprise. We just wanted to check out the National Monument to get the kids’ Jr Ranger badges and we ended up making a full day out of it. Great little town. We’ve been booking today. We’ll be in S Texas during Dia De Los Meurtos so hopefully there will still be cool stuff going on not totally ruined by COVID. Our spot in Texarkana is an Army Corps of Engineers campground and the lake has alligators :o

Sorry about the hiatus. The first couple of days here in Ohio had some hiccups like a 24 hour torrential downpour and some minor identity theft issues to resolve.
Today we checked out Nelson Ledges State Park. The trails ran through caves, caverns and crevasses . Lots of climbing and squeezing…
