Ah fudge, I am in between 36 and 38. One too small the other a tad too big. These look awesome as well.

@Stuart.T Just measured the tag 38's and the smallest waist is a 37.8".  I have measured a load of tag 36 for good measure and could not come close to 37.5".

One of the differences between the 666 and the 777 is a lower rise. As you correctly surmise they will sit lower on the waist as a result.

Rookie-alert but i gotta seek knowledge possessed by men wiser than me (so that would be most everyone, then):

If looking for pants one-step above denim jeans on the dressiness-scale, would these duckies do similar to a pair of chinos? I’m starting in a new job on monday and I realize there’s a void between suits and jeans in my wardrobe, so I think I should consider picking up either these or IH-721 in khaki. I prefer these for the heaviness of the material and measurements-wise both options would seem to work.

@Crit_Obs  I dont claim to be wise but I think for a step up from jeans then chinos for sure is a fantastic option and for a thicker fabric the whipcord work pants are also an excellent choice. I consider these 777D at the same level as jeans.

I agree with daltmeyer. The 721 are an excellent choice for smart looking trousers whereas the ducks are in the same rugged category as jeans.

But I would fill your void with the 721 too for now  Chinos are always a good choice!

I’m in broad agreement with these upstanding gents. I bought my 666D as a dressier option and they function very well in that role the first few wears. Then the glorious IH duck evo starts and you realise you’ve got a new pair of gnarly brown jeans on your hands.
