Won't be cold enough to wear it but I'll try and take some pics later this week when it's arrived…

Well… I was too lazy to put on some 816 whipcords so for now...

Size M. With a tee shirt underneath. Plenty of room for a sweater or shirt.

First impressions: impressed. And warm. So warm.
Hidden storm cuffs = work of art. Alpaca lined pockets that can each hold a flask easily = perfect.
It's not as heavy or as bulky as I thought it would be, which will allow me to wear it more often...

Seul, you majestic beast, that's the best WAYWT I've seen in months! 😃

This was my first alpaca-lined N1 and I agree with you, it's just an amazing working of craftmanship.  I love those stormcuffs that keep the sleeves from dropping too far below my wrists.  I keep forgetting that the pockets are lined until I use them, then a smile creeps across my face…they're so cozy!

Thankfully this thing is built so that I shouldn't ever need to buy another one again, because, ouch!, that hurt my pocket-book!

Oh, and I was happy to find that I can wear this comfortably below 62F (17C), so it actually does get use for me in southern California mornings.  I tend to run cold.

          Blanket-line all the things!!!

just got these bad boys in. we sold through them too quickly last year so luckily have a bit more of a size run this fall. I am not even too sure that it gets cold enough to wear one of these coats regularly throughout the winter where I live but I might have to try….

Probably for the best, but only just. You'd get away with it open over a tee (which would be weird I accept  😉 ) The vertical measurements are all great, but it is a little slender from the shoulder width and down through the chest. M should be great and you can layer away.

Are those the 9Lives cargo pants btw? Very nice indeed  😛

Yes they are the 9L cargo. Bid too wide in waist but knees and thigh are perfect. Very comfortable pants.
I am afraid that sleeves will be too long in size M, but have to try..thanks for your assessments. It is always helpful.

Great colour on those cargo pants too.

Sure the sleeves will be longer. My view is that this is a winter coat and with a layer under/gloves on sub zero days you’ll be glad for the coverage. That certainly is the case for me with my N-1. I have quite a high tolerance for long sleeves though because everything is long on me [emoji1]

That is to say, all sleeves are long on me because I have short arms [emoji23]

How warm are the IH N1-Bs? Let's say, with nothing beneath them but a t-shirt, how cold would it be outside before another layer was needed?

I’d say you can use one done up, over a tee or henley down to 5C. I use mine as a winter coat in northern Norway with a type III, hoodie or heavy shirt under and it works great down to -10C.

                                          Gents,

I just copped this N1 BLK size XL f/ the outlet. Been looking for a proper winter coat for literally years. This should do nicely.

Opinions on fit? I have an IHxSE type III denim jacket and the blanket lined riders jacket both in XXL. I wear IH westerns in XL. In fit pics I have on an XL UHF under the N1. I think this is on the edge of being too large, but acceptable. I could have gone w/ and L, but wasn't available at the time.

                                          Cheers!
