Arbys is extremely underrated IMO. I wouldn't say it's my favorite fast food chain but I do really like it and it never gets the love it deserves.
Chik-Fil-A is good but never fills me up…waffle fries are bomb though and yes, the customer service is literally the best as far as fast food chains go.
White Castle is extremely overrated IMO. That shits just not good and I don't know why all the Midwesterners/East Coasters go ape shit over it.
I also don't think it's fair to lump fast food burgers in with Resteraunt burgers when we are rating best burgers. They should be two different categories.

My favorite guilty pleasure/shitty fast food place…Jack In The Box. I can't think of another fast food place that has a menu with such variety. If you aren't from the west coast/western US you may have never heard of them but next time you're out here visiting sometime give them a shot....preferably when it's 2:30 a.m. after a night of drinking.

Guess we love our fast food.
I ate at in n out one time in the 9 years I lived in CA. It was okay. Ate at a shake shack once to try it: OK. Never been one for fast food burgers, or fast food in general, really. Now a fancy burger in a restaurant though, sometimes tempted.
Chick-fil-A is a fond memory from childhood, but I can’t patronize—their corporation actively lobbies against gay rights.

In Melbourne, I like The Burger Project and 8-Bit. Thaiger do some interesting Asian fusion takes on burgers. @louisbosco remind me to take you to one of these next time you're over.
In Sydney, The Burger Project and Moo Gourmet Burgers are good. Moo also have the best view of any fast food joint I've been in, looking over Bondi Beach.
In London, Hawksmoor and Meat Market / Meat Liquor.
And in Amsterdam, Burgermeester is my favourite. Burgerbar aren't bad either, but the best fries I've found there are from the Vlaams Friteshuis Vleminckx.
In n Out are OK, but I agree that they're overrated. I think that all of the above are better.

Yep, there are no burger bars where I live. MacD and B King in the towns but nothing else I can think of.
Baguette, Indian, Pizza / Kebab and Chip shops are everything here.

Which is why I wrote “almost exclusively”. And the fact that it concerned his recent visit to the US is rather pertinent.
I envy the availability of good, inexpensive fast food in the US, but I’m also happy to avoid the extra temptation to go bananas on huge amounts of salt, fat and sugar.

All damn day. This is ACTUAL "animal style" because an animal is involved. Every day in America hundreds of mom and pop burger shacks like Denver's Crown Burger wipe the floor with the likes of In n Out.

If you get them straight out of the fryer, add the fry seasoning, and eat them in bunches of 4-6 at a time, they're actually pretty awesome.
Probably would be even better if they were normal sized, though.

Jalapeno poppers, curly fries, tacos, teriyaki bowls- Jack in the Box is the ultimate late night food.

Yaasssss!!! Exactly.Plus breakfast served all day and a 24 hour drive through. Funny thing about their tacos is that they in no way resemble an actual taco in the traditional sense but damn are they effin good. To make things sound even weirder I love dipping them in ranch.

Okay, I may as well jump on this band wagon. My favorite is.. I was just working in Northeast Philly, Hotel was almost across the street from my favorite Nifty Fiftys. They have great everything, hamburgers, Taylor pork roll, fries, milk shakes. The best is a filet mignon sandwich with cheese and an onion ring. I should have taken a picture as the filet sandwich is really decent. I did grab a coffee mug.

Next time you're in Philadelphia, you should go across the Ben Franklin bridge into Pensauken, and get a garlic bread cheesesteak from Gaetano's on Rt. 70.
It's better than Pat's, Geno's, or god forbid, Jim's.

I love In n Out!
If any of you come to San Diego, and want to meet for a burger and a pint, I’ll take you to Rocky’s Crown Pub. They have two things on their menu. Hamburger/Cheeseburger and Fries. Believe me when I tell you, that they do one thing, and do it right. They have the best, no frills, classic burgers that I’ve ever had. Always with a soft toasted bun, fresh lettuce, a nice slice of tomato, a little red onion, and a juicy 80/20 ground chuck burger (1/3 or 1/2 pound), and a slice of cheese (if that’s your thing). I’ve been 20 times in the 4 years I’ve lived here, and it’s always perfect. It runs about $6 which leaves room in the budget for an order of their always crispy fries, and a pint of come local craft beer. And being that San Diego is the craft brew capital of the US, they easily have a nice selection on-hand at all times. Hungry yet?
