IH-777-UHR - Indigo UHR 21/23oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered

So I soaked my pair after 6 weeks wear in June and put them away for the summer months. When I got them out this week (as the UK summer summer seems to be over in Manchester
) the waist was SUPER snug, uncomfortable. I have been enjoying a lot of pizza and red wine over the last few weeks! Anyway I bought a wooden waist stretcher from Amazon for £22. I figured the £22 was well worth the risk of it worked. So I wet the top block and with the help of a wrench I have successfully stretched them out about 3 inches!! Now they are really comfy again. Thought I’d share in case anyone else is in the same position.

3 inches? Wow! That’s quite a lot!
What is the original waist size (tag)? -
They are a tag 35 and now they measure 38.5!

Got to be careful with wooden stretcher can rip the top button off the jeans.. it a risk

Yes I was very careful to keep a close eye on this. I think the UHR is pretty indestructible though!

Two months in and two soaks. Very happy with the lovely blue shades coming through. -
So basically a owned these a year, almost to the day. Although not anywhere near that for wear. Had some 25oz IB and some 14oz too. If I had to guess id say almost 150-200 days?
They had 1 machine wash and 2 soaks. With the last soak being yesterday morning.

Unfortunately I have never had a pair XHS but I will definitely get one someday. But first I need to wear the hell out of these.

@neph93 the softness of broken in UHR is wonderful- I've only recently gotten into IH sanforized because I like the raw so much- the 18 raw too

I'm late the party, as usual.
I read this whole thread before I scored the last pair at @canoeclub this morning. It's taken me two years now to understand how IH works for me. But when you think that 21oz denim is just normal and that 14oz is summer jeans–- compared to the other lighter weights. I'm up for the UHR ritual. 777 works great for me.

Loom State is just different in the best sort of way. Sanforization usurps an irreplaceable part of the denim’s soul. Here’s to the return of UHR someday.
