IH-777-UHR - Indigo UHR 21/23oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered

no way i'm believing Iron Heart is disco'ing the UHR. for starters, its just way too damn amazing. two - how you gonna be a serious about denim & write off Loom Sate?
kidding aside, UHR was my first pair of Iron Hearts so to me it was normal. although im new, the sage guidance about sanforization/washing taking the life out of your denim holds a certain amount of weight to me now. this doesn't mean Im prejudice as i find all sorts of jeans appealing. more so curious if others also find loom state to be where they want to be.777-UHR 4 months of extreme weekend warrior wear. i've watched several movies in this pair, mowed the lawn a few times & even washed our cars ???

When Haraki-san started Iron Heart, loom state was entirely unimportant to him. In fact that jeans were selvedge also was irrelevant. He was (and still is) all about the weave and fabric design, construction, and cut. The vast majority of IH denim has been sanforised and still is today. H prefers the predictability and uniformity.
Personally I think it is good for Iron Heart to have a loomstate/truly raw denim. Now that the OG 18oz is discontinued and the UHR is done it will be interesting to see if H will design a new loomstate fabric. It has been mentioned as a possibility. But if it doesn’t happen then that is fine too. The XHS is absolute genius denim and certainly demanding enough for the specialist/connoissuer. The 21oz flagship denim is a masterful piece of fabric design and I hope never to be without a pair.
I have two pairs of UHR and it is great stuff. I love them both and I’m happy to have them, but it’s also a pain in the ass. I’m fine with it being done and looking forward to the next step.

first IH piece I acquired was a loom state Type III from Self Edge and I was hooked. Most of the IH jeans I have are unsanforized as were the Levis I bought back in the day. Getting the size right isn't rocket science and if you're off a bit that's part of the fun. Cuff the bitches. Or high water.
I'd love to see more loom state. -

So I soaked my pair after 6 weeks wear in June and put them away for the summer months. When I got them out this week (as the UK summer summer seems to be over in Manchester
) the waist was SUPER snug, uncomfortable. I have been enjoying a lot of pizza and red wine over the last few weeks! Anyway I bought a wooden waist stretcher from Amazon for £22. I figured the £22 was well worth the risk of it worked. So I wet the top block and with the help of a wrench I have successfully stretched them out about 3 inches!! Now they are really comfy again. Thought I’d share in case anyone else is in the same position.

3 inches? Wow! That’s quite a lot!
What is the original waist size (tag)? -
They are a tag 35 and now they measure 38.5!
