As an aside - based on the amount of stretch I’ve gotten on the 18oz Classic denim, I wouldn’t let the knee scare you - it will give and do so quickly.

Utterly perfect measurements. These will be so perfect for so many people.

Been waiting on the 16 oz vintage release for a while now since the weight and breathability seems perfect for warm weather. The measurements between the 555/666 are close but not quite ideal for me. I’d be trading off either a loose waist or tight knee. Any chance of a future release in the 634 or 888 cuts?

Maybe…..my 18oz vintage haven't seem to have stretched a crazy amount but then again I didn't buy them super tight and haven't actually taken measurements.  The knee on my 555-02's is pretty damn tight and that was asking for the largest knee measurement in stock for my size.  I could do the same with these though and possibly still make them work.  The other measurements do look pretty good.

Now looking at this and the 666 measurements, the 40 looks very nice. Knee might be a bit snug…but this denim stretches like the 18oz vintage right?

They are very roomy in the top block.. my only concern is that they are too wide.. when they are broken in..

The most important question is, are they returnable? If they are and you are uncomfortable in them, that's your best route. If you're stuck with them, they definitely look wearable.

They do look great as of now but if you feel they might end up being too big then try the next size down for comparison. The lighter denim should be easier to stretch than the heavy stuff. IMHO the 555 cut should be pretty snug at the beginning and then stretch to perfectness. I have two pairs I could barely button at the beginning, one month later I'm thinking I could've sized down pretty easily.

I would size down on those, they are a bit big….. they will stretch , it’s up how you and how you like wear then

I think you can expect a clear enlargement at the waist, maybe a full inch, but they are sanforized and one-washed, so they will come back exactly like now at the first wash. As they are they fit you very well.

After a lot of thinking I gave them a really hot soak and a  tumble dry. They shrinked a little more. now they are perfect for me  :). Many thanks for your help..
