As most of you will know, our friend Mike, AKA Filthy, died recently. Mike was a hugely active, generous and appreciated forum member. His generosity and kindness knew no bounds, for that and for many other reasons he is sorely missed.
His family asked that donations in Mike's memory should be made to the American Heart Association. Many of you have already offered items to be auctioned in his honour, the proceeds of which will go to the American Heart Association. There is no requirement for the item to be Iron Heart, we already have Ship John, The Flat Head and Zerrows gifted.....
If you would like to send something for us to auction, please send me a personal message.
Sincere thanks to all of you who have written tributes to Mike, and to those of you who have sent items in already.
The auction will start soon, and will continue for as long as we receive your donations.
Update - We will be getting a lot of Mikes gear here soon. We will be selling that here too.

I have been talking to Alissa, Mikes sister over the last couple of days. Mike lived with and supported his mother, Bernadette. Bernadette needs money to stay on living in her home. She was going to sell Mike's clothing to help herself fiscally, I told her that I was probably in a better position to do that than her. Are there any objections to me giving any proceeds from these sales (after the first USD500, which we will donate to American Heart Association) to help Bernadette (and Pickes, his cat)?

@Giles great idea!

I'm truly blown away by the levels of support and kindness shown towards Mike and his family in these sad times. I've never really felt part of an online community before due to the innate disconnect I usually feel when interacting with strangers on the internet, but the integrity and genuine compassion shown by so many of this forum's members really has warmed my heart and made me proud to be a part of it.

@T4920 This is exactly what I thought after reading G. post - a supportive Community of compassionate people. Respect!

Love it! Going through my closet now.

T4920 and Zee Boo: Apt description and definition. Agreed.

It’s a great idea! 100% support!
-
@Giles that would be great. Whatever she needs.

I’ve missed a lot of this. I want to support Bernadette but I don’t think that I have much in the way of gear I want or want to get rid of. I gave Mike the one thing I can think of, my plaited leash. I would contribute generously to a GoFundMe or similar if someone could either point me in that direction or discuss it with Alissa as an Avenue to help her mom.
Love the love here.

I read the e-mail and obit relating to this. It’s a huge credit to this forum and members what they’ve done/and are doing. I joined after the guy passed away, but Kudos to those organising, there’s enough online toxicity, while these actions make this community a beacon. Sorry for the loss of your friend.
